Guess I could try a couple.. Why don't I have sound on my laptop after installing an XP Upgrade? It was working before fine.. #2 What does CDR 101: Not ready reading Drive N

try this:
to answer ur first question make sure you installed the "utilities" disc that came with your computer software. that should solve the sound issue.
im not quite sure on #2 but a real good guess IMO would be the computer is trying to read on the N drive which most likely doesn't exist on your system. therefore try going into DOS if your familiar with it, and format the c drive and pop the mellenium disc in and either type in DOS "d:\setup.exe" or just wait til DOS prompts you for further instructions.
