Anyone have any info on Playstation 3?

Now that its been out for a while, does anyone on here have or played a PS3? I'm thinking of buying one, but don't know if its worth it. Is it really that good? Also, are these Blueray DVD's all they are cracked up to be?

FYI- the price has come down quite a bit on the secondary market (around $100 over cost, even less, on ebay).

Are Bluerays DVD players worth buying right now? I say no as I don't think most DVD's are made to run on them as of yet. Plus the price of them will come down in the long run. As for the P3 I have no idea as I don't play any of those things. You could get a good used Atari 2600 off ebay.

I've heard the XBox 360 is just as good if not better than a PS3. I have a buddy who played both and he said he'd prefer the 360.

I prefer the Nintendo, as it allows me to eat cheese doodles and give my self an orange dick while playing interactive tennis.

I haven't played the PS3, but from what I've heard, it isn't worth the price diff of the 360. I just bought a 360 a month ago, and got the Premium package (which is the one with the hard drive, and the wireless controller) and got a $100 rebate, so it was only $299! It is pretty damn cool. Like I said, I HEARD that the PS3 wasn't worth it.

I think what you're looking at right now is overall quality of the games. What's out there right now for PS3 are good, but they don't have the volume or the overall quality of the Xbox

My girlfriend bought me a playstation 3 for Christmas and I must say it is very impressive. I'm not a huge video game player but it is by far the best system i've ever seen. It came with a BluRay disc and I purchased NBA '07 and it is amazing.The PS3 does so many things I'll probably never make use of everything that it does. It can be used as a computer with high speed internet and store mp3's. The only thing that sucks is the lack of games for it. i went to bestbuy on the 26th and they only had like 8 games to choose from and a few of those werent even in stock. Overall I would recommend the system to anyone.

I saw a show on G4 where someone took apart the ps3 and all of the parts separated added up to 240 dollars more than the 600 asking price. It has a blu-ray dvd player. Those new right now run for about 500 dollars. XBOX 360 will not play blu-ray just hi-def DVDs. To get the Xbox 360 to play blu-ray u have to buy an accessory costing 200.(That makes up the diff in price between the systems) I have an XBOX 360 but will wait to buy the ps3(very little games r available) but as far as being worth the asking price I would say yes. Hope this Helps

Bought one at Walmart for $599 plus tax. My kids love it.
I have it on my 50" DLP with surround sound. The
graphics are unbelievable. Bought four games for it and with
the $15.00 adaptor you can play Playstation 2 games on
it. You get one wireless controller with it so you will have to buy another for $50.00.
