fantasy baseball advice

[Blackbeard]

I have a bet with my brother, we both have 2 yahoo fantasy teams. I was crushing him for most of the year untill some players of my team went into slump mode, now he is 4 pts ahead of me, and I think I'm gonna lose. He has always had the better pitchers, and I made some dumb trade with him that I regret, and dropped some players that he picked up and are hurting me

I copied and pasted my 2 teams, they have changed a bit over the year, and some of these guys I just added. my brothers teams are below mine. any advice into a player I can pick up, lineup change, or something to tweak my teams for the last month would be much appreciated:

pretty solid teams, maybe think about benching irod and put in a young catcher they probly won't breakdown down the stretch. Your first teams starting pitching isn't great. Beckett who knows, with Pedro mets will monitor probably on a pitch count and Bonderman hasn't won a game since middle of July. I'd definately dump at least 2 of them and go for someone hot like Esteban Loaiza, Matt Cain, even a Traschel he's got 14 wins.

Depends on how the leagues scores, when I had a yahoo fantasy team it was based on so many categories drove me nuts especially with the lineup. Stats like triples, holds, cg's, shutouts have a huge impact on the overall score

Your bro's second team is sick hard to beat that roster unless the mets and yankees start to rest everyday players. gl man

Thanks Dirk, its funny, I just picked up Irod 2 days ago and dropped posada who I had almost all year but his avg was dropping, just trying him for a week or so (but he is 0-8 and got zip outta him, so he may go tomorrow.

we have about 19 scoring categories, and since its only 2 guys, we have all-star teams, thats why they are so loaded, I just get bad luck sometimes sitting guys who have a good game and starting guys who go 0-4.

I'll look into those picthers tomorrow, thanks again

i just lost my starting 3rd basement in both leagues mark teahen. I got chipper backing him up in one league who knows with his health. Other one I picked up Rich Aurilia

that sucks Dirk, Chipper has been hurt alot, but when he plays he does well.

I dropped Beckett, it was time, got 9 wins outta him, but era over 6 and like 25 Hr's, what happened to this guy?

Picked up Harang, but havent used him yet, has good wins/era, also repicked up Jimmy Rollins for michael barret, than started him last night instead of michael young/ philly got rained out and michael young went 4 for 5. makes you feel like a dope sometimes.

my brother dropped mussina when he went on DL, so I'm gonna snag him as well, he doesnt want hem anymore, but I might only get a couple of games outta him b4 playoffs

why not try to pick up Brian McCann instead of Irod... he is having a hell of a year for Atlanta and he is like 22 years old... he should not be getting too tired at such a young age...

Start Grady Sizemore instead of Ichiro... he steals bases like Ichiro but also gets RBIS and an occassional Home Run... Ichiro hit .300 last week with no runs scored and no RBIS for me in my Yahoo league...

Get rid of Derrek Lee and pick up Ryan Howard!!! Dump Bobby Jenks and take anyone else... he has been nothing short of awful for the past month...

i lost in one of my fantasy leagues traded away damon before that big series vs. sox and traded rollins away early in the year plus Vlad for pitching damn that was a stupid 1. Gotta give hitters a few weeks not bad edged out in playoffs by a team that won its last 7 games. I'm a sore loser when it comes to fantasy games though.

I dumped Irod who I had for 1 week and took back Posada

Ichiro I've had for 2 weeks and hes been on the bench since I posted that list, Sizemore's been in for most of the year

Derek Lee has done alright for me, I've been alternating him with Giambi, and got some good production out of them.

As of today, I fell back 3 points after having tied and gone ahead 2 points, we are very close in a few categories...I'll probably dump Jenks like you said and retake Trevor Hoffman

and a big FU to Shaun Alexander who put up 50 rush yds and 2fumbles for 0 points, that must have hurt a lot of fantasy teams
