Look Bry.....Most of the time, hostage situations are reported but not blown out of proportion. Know what I mean? You're not spewing facts, I am. This was covered, not as extensively as you'd like, but it was covered. The policy is, not to blow this kind of stunt too far out of proportion because it will only make every nut job in the world think they can get 24/7 coverage by doing this crap. Can't you understand that. It was covered, and covered by every major paper. It didn't need more. And no, if it was a Jew who did it, would it get more. And lastly, if they did cover it like you want, with networks breaking in to their programming and every paper small and large having large headlines on the top of their folds, you would have many, many more claiming exactly what I'm saying. That this kind of coverage only makes people want to do this for the publicity. Just understand that, would you?

The New York Times and the LA Times both found out themselves that one of their employees was doing this manipulation and both fired their people immediately. IMMEDIATELY! They try to hire people who they believe won't do this kind of stuff, but it's immpossible to know who would do it and who wouldn't...Foreign countries allow this stuff to happen because the media is run by the government. We are blessed in this country because ours is NOT!

come on. you cant possibly believe what your telling me. Their are issues all over the world that get covered for days/weeks/months that are of far less importance. i dont care if it get covered a day a week or a month. what i do care about is that these stories get covered equally and the fact is yet again this is another story that didnt. Plain and simple.

In theory I agree with the policy but they don't always put the policy to use. There's dozens of news stories each year that get blown way out of proportion.

Unfortunately, in this country, our youth and adults spend a lot of time watching TV and need to be entertained rather than learning and reading about the world and issues around them.

So newspapers are in the business of making money, and unfortunately people want to read about entertainers. It has NOTHING to do with media bias. It's why Mel and Barbaro, both entertainers of different species were so heavily covered.

Why do you think the National Enquirer, which is the biggest piece of shit rag in the world, stays in business and does so well and makes so much money? People want to read that crap.

Again, it had nothing to do with being an Arab or a Jew. You guys don't work in a newsroom. I can tell you for a fact, these newsrooms spend a lot of time with people of many races as edditors, trying to figure out just what needs to be out on front. They don't always make the right decision, but it's hardly ever one guy deciding what news runs for the day. It's usually a very large group of editors. All these major papers don't call each other and say, "hey, let's not cover this Arab nut because we hate Jews."

It is sad that this is the type of thing that gets more coverage than others. It's not bias....Giving a crazy nut job more coverage than he got would do nothing but add gas to a fire of many other nut jobs that think doing the same will get their word out....
