  • Weeked Series Price

I just took a fairly large bet on a weekend series price play I really liked...wanted to share with anyone whose interested.

    Dodgers (-177) vs. Pirates 5*****

The Pirates are terrible. They have lost 8 in a row and just finished getting swept by the Royals in Kansas City. Pittsburgh is 8-28 away from home this season.

The Dodgers have struggled lately but they are still just 1 game out of first place in the NL West and are 20-16 at home.

    Here are some game-by-game numbers:

    Game 1: Pirates (O.Perez) @ Dodgers (B. Tomko)

This is probably the Pirates best chance to get a win as Tomko has struggled lately. However, Oliver Perez is 0-4, 8.42 ERA in 6 road starts, and the Pirates 1-9 in his last 10 starts, inlcuding 0-4, 7.78 ERA in 4 June starts. I also love the fact that the man Line Mover is on the Dodgers tonight.

    Game 2: Pirates (Z.Duke) @ Dodgers (A. Sele)

Sele is 3-0, 1.75 ERA at home while Duke is just 1-4 on the road. Duke is probably the Pirates best starting pitcher, but he gave up 7 earned runs in his only start this against the Dodgers. I give Sele the edge at home.

    Game 3: Pirates (K. Wells) @ Dodgers (B. Penny)

Should it come down to a decisive game on Sunday, the Dodgers will most likely be a -200 or so favorite in this one. Kip Wells will be making just his 2nd start of the season on Sunday. Wells walked 5 and gave up 6 earned runs in 3.1 IP in his first start, a loss to the Royals on June 20. Brad Penny has been great this season for the Dodgers, with a record of 7-2, 2.83 ERA. Penny is 3-1, 2.75 ERA at home and the Dodgers have won 7 of his last 10 starts.

I expect a sweep in this series for the Dodgers and will take my chances laying -177.

    Have a good weekend.

          Dodgers were EASY money.

Also cashed the Tigers one with the D-Rays and Mets coming down to today's games.
