Birddog, this is a clip from Bill Simmons article on ESPN.com. How good are these numbers? Do you still think Gagne is better than Rivera?

Check out Rivera's postseason stats: 72 appearances, 111 2/3 innings, 86 baserunners, 87 K's, an 8-1 record with 34 saves and 0.81 ERA, four rings. During the Yankees' six World Series seasons, Rivera pitched 87 1/3 pressure innings in 55 games and gave up nine runs. Who else could have done that?

Those numbers are sick! Give Wagner 5 more years and he will be right there!

neither one is as good as keith foulke!!!!

Too funny, TTT...I will say this- I do not think Foulke gets nearly enough credit for what he did in the 2004 post season. He should be exempt from booing in Fenway for a lifetime!

maybe----but even then everything was an adventure......king of the warning track shot!!! also loves to put himself in bad situations.....I was never comfortable having a closer whose go to pitch is a change-up.....I like my closer to throw GAS!!!!
