A perfect day on Monday, going 3-0 and making 5.24 units. No one has ever asked so I don't know if anyone cares, but for the purposes of this World Cup my units are $50. Anyways, Tuesday is tricky as several teams have already clinched and therefore several others have nothing to play for. I am being cautious with my plays.
World Cup Record: 16-11-5 (+6.67 units)
6/20
Game 33: Costa Rica PK (+285) vs. Poland 1*
I'll take a shot here. Poland came to this Cup with expectations of a trip to the second round, while the Costa Ricans were picked by many to finish last in Group A. I am hoping that the Poles will be more interested in going home than playing a meaningless game with the Ticos following that heartbreaking loss to Germany.
Game 34: Germany -0.5 (-196) vs. Ecuador 1*
The hosts need a win here to finish first in Group A and avoid what would likely be a second round matchup with England. Ecuador has looked good so far but they have not played a team like the Germans.
Game 35: Paraguay vs. Trinidad and Tobago UNDER 2.5 (-121) 2**
Paraguay has yet to score in the World Cup, losing its first two matches to England and Sweden. However, they have been very stingy defensively, yielding only 2 goals: an own goal vs. England and a very late header for the Swedes. It is unlikely that Trinidad & Tobago will find the net against such a stout defense, but it is hard for me to justify betting on a Paraguay side that has yet to score. Therefore, the UNDER is my play.
Game 36: England vs. Sweden DRAW (+165) 1*
I know I said that I'd never bet on a draw again, but this makes so much sense I had to take it. A draw in this game would give England first place in Group B, and get Sweden through to the knockout phase, fulfilling the goals each side had when group play began. 0-0 is not an unlikely score in this one.
Good luck and enjoy the Cup!
