First, the positive - I took the points with the Mavericks last night. I'd still be sick if I had played the ML, which I contemplated. FWIW, I think Game 6 is a blowout.
The negative - Really frustrating Baseball POD loss last night, as the Atlanta Mickelsons found a way to lose a game they had no business losing - they've become quite good at that. They continue to find new ways, as McBride strikes out Ortiz and Ramirez on 7 pitches, and then walks two good, but inferior hitters. A couple bloops and a blast later, and the Braves lose another. I've never minded getting beat, but giving games away haunts me.
Enough bitching and moaning. Two plays on the same game for Monday.
Baseball Play of the Day (34-35, +2.37*)
Detroit Tigers (JB) @ Milwaukee Brewers (DD) Under 9 (-115)
Milwaukee Brewers +118 (DD/JB)
Everything rational tells me the total won't be close. Under has been a goldmine in Tiger games (23-43-4) and while the Brewers have gone 19-9-3 Over away from home, they are 19-19-1 at home.
Bonderman has been good, with a 4.01 ERA, but the impressive thing is that his road ERA and last 5 starts ERA are 3.06 and 3.00, respectively. The Brewers have fared better against LHSP (5.5 rpg) than RHSP (4.5 rpg).
Davis's overall ERA is 5.07 - inflated from one terrible start - but his home ERA is 3.67. The Tigers have been putrid against LHSP, scoring only 3.9 runs per game (as opposed to 5.6 against RHSP), which is unheard of for a team with their stellar record.
This should be about a 4-3 game, and if it goes over, it will be, in my opinion, because the Brewers break out offensively. 1-1 brings either a push or a small profit, but I'm expecting 2-0.
