Man I thought the USA had that one...that was a helluva game. Terrible, terrible job by the ref. He should never be allowed to officiate an international game again. On to Sunday...
World Cup Record: 12-9-5 (+4.59 units)
6/18
Game 27: Croatia -0.5 (-165) vs. Japan 2**
This one is simple. Croatia lost their first match to Brazil while Australia beat Japan. One of those teams will be joining Brazil in the second round, and if Croatia wants to be that team, they better win this match.
Game 28: Brazil vs. Australia OVER 2.5 (-136) 2**
Brazil's offense didn't get to show off as much as it would've liked against a tough Croatian side, but I expect them to come out of their shell in a big way against Australia. The Brazilians surely watched the show Argentina put on 2 days ago, and will be eager to prove their reputation as the best team in the world is valid. I wouldn't put it past the Socceroos to find the net in this one as well.
Game 29: South Korea +1 (+143) vs. France 2**
France has not scored a World Cup goal since 1998. That includes a 0-0 draw in their opener with Switzerland and 3 scoreless games during the 2002 Cup. I think the Koreans represent a good value in this one and will take the extra goal.
On a side note, I put a what the hell bet of 5 bucks on Geoff Ogilvy to win the U.S. Open before the tournament at 75-1. I'm not a big golf betting guy but figured I'd just take someone for fun and now he's a shot off the lead going into Sunday. Just something else to watch for.
Happy Father's Day and enjoy the Cup!
