I just can't imagine this present crew of Yankees contending for the World Series;they do have some good young talent, but losses of Matsui and Sheffield in the long run as well as just average pitching are not the recipe for a championship.
Much better Yankee teams over the last few years have fallen short, and I don't think this year will be any exception.
Red Sox have their problems also, and unless starting pitchers comes around and they shore up their middle relief, they will join the Yankees as also rans.
