Played two games yesterday, both could have gone either way. The fave won, the dog lost, so right back where we started on that.
Baseball Play of the Day (31-33, +1.60*)
I think I'm betting on the best team in the AL East today, but I've certainly been wrong before.
Toronto Blue Jays -107 (Downs/Lopez)
You may ask, what do we expect from Downs here? Good question. He began the year as a starter, and had a decent start at home against Tampa, and was rocked at Chicago. Since then he has gone to the bullpen, and been pretty solid.
Lopez has shown signs of turning it around (two weeks ago he was +136 against Gil Meche and the Mariners), but his ERA is still 6.52, and he has to slow down one of the best offenses in baseball here.
The Orioles are 5-14 vs. LHSP overall (4.1 rpg)
The Orioles are 1-9 on the road against LHSP (2.9 rpg)
The Orioles are 9-20 against teams with winning records.
The Blue Jays average 7.0 rpg in home night games (5.9 rpg at home for the season).
The Blue Jays average 6.9 rpg against RHSP at home.
Baltimore's bullpen has been taxed the last two nights. Halladay's CG gave Toronto's pen a night off yesterday. Both pens are questionable (Bal - 4.84 ERA, Tor - 4.81 ERA) so this could be a deciding factor. The Blue Jays need to win this one to win this series, and I think they'll get it done.
