Edmonton has to go to Raleigh and win to keep series alive, but Hurricanes out to win first Stanley Cup-- this would have been a hell of a series, had Oilers not blown 3-0 lead in Game 1. Oilers are 0-18 on power play in last three games; they put 21 pucks on goal in Game 4, not enough, and have been outscored 7-2 in the third period this series. Home team has dominated faceoffs this series, winning 140 of 225 (62.2%). Not sure if Edmonton, the #8 seed in West, has anything left in tank after fantastic run to get to this point. If they can steal a win, they go home to equalize

      Six-Pack for Wednesday
-- Guts. Onions. Cajones. Miami Heat showed all of above in dramatic comeback from 13-point deficit in fourth quarter that prevented David Stern from puking at idea of a sweep.
-- How about Shaq draining pair from charity stripe with the Heat down five? Huge free throws.
-- How about Gary Payton not taking shot until he hit huge game-winner with 0:09 left?
-- How about Nowitzki bricking game-tying charity toss at 0:03.4? Dallas has to be a little bit concerned that they had chance to put their opponent away, but let them live.
-- That said, I got idea watching game that Dallas is just a much better team than Miami; it will take extreme toughness mentally for the Heat to win this series. Best-of-7 series are almost always won by the better team. Dallas is better.
-- The double play David Wright started in ninth innng off Burrell's line shot was the best double play I've ever seen, considering it was ninth inning and big game for Phillies

        Wednesday's List of 13:
        13) There is a terrific summer basketball league for college kids in Mt Lebanon, PA, with an unusual twist; no clocks,
4-on-4 full court, games are to 35 by ones, and kids call their own fouls.

No 3-pointers, you take a drink break when one team hits 16.

        12) 26 of the last 27 teams to be down 3-1 in the Stanley Cup finals lost the series; only the '42 Maple Leafs won the Cup, rallying to beat the Red Wings.

        11) Phil Mickelson won three of his last nine majors, after he ended the 0-42 drought.

        10) Why have there been so many golf majors in New York/ New Jersey area recently? When I think golf, I'm not thinking Long Island/Westchester/Garden State.

        9) Good to see Otto Pfister back on the sidelines for Togo in World Cup play Tuesday. Actually, I didn't see it, I couldn't pick Mr Pfister out of a lineup, but for a small country, it would be bad for its greatest sports moment to be tarnished by a money dispute. Togo lost despite Pfister's presence.

        8) Did you know that Turkey ('02) is only team in the last two World Cups to lose its first match and still make the second round? Me either, saw it on SportsCenter.

        7) Eight of 12 SEC teams made the 64-team college baseball tournament, but only Georgia made the 8-team College World Series.

        6) June 13 birthdays: comedian Tim Allen (53), musician Dennis Locorriere (Dr Hook, 57) and the Olsen twins (20).

        5) Batters are hitting .169 vs Scott Kazmir, when there are runners in scoring position.

        4) Carlos Lee has 15 homers in 29 road games, putting him in reach of Barry Bonds' road record for homers in season (36).

        3) How does Tampa Bay's Seth McClung stay in the Devil Rays' rotation? He was 45 walks, 34 strikeouts; one of the Durham Bulls would be a better choice, especially in light of well rookie Shields has done for Tampa Bay, since coming up from Durham.

        2) Elias Sports Bureau points out that in four of the last five seasons, from June 11 on, the A's won at least 61.6% of their games (the fifth year, they won 54.4%). A's are 2-0 this year, with wins Sunday and Tuesday.

        1) The US Open ends on Sunday. Father's Day. We all have fathers and love them dearly, but for the Woods family, with only one child, it was probably a little moreso. It will be very interesting and dramatic if Tiger is in contention on Sunday.
