  • Does Anyone Else Find This Comical?

From ESPN: The Danbury Trashers, whose owner was charged in a federal Mafia indictment, will not compete in the United Hockey League next season.

Team owner James Galante was arrested Friday on charges of racketeering, extortion, witness tampering and circumventing the league's salary cap. Prosecutors say he overpaid players and their wives with money from his mob-connected garbage companies.

Racketeering, extortion, witness tampering......and circumventing the league's salary cap????? What is the penalty for spending too much? Attending classes on how to run an organization taught by Isiah Thomas? Could he have been arrested if he did not extort or tamper?

this charge is to show that he was funneling money into the league from the other companies they were not really employed by.......They have this guy dead in the water on alot of rico charges....This is just the tip of the iceberg......He had like 10 players making 100K when the salary cap was like 200K total.....
