  • World Cup Day 5

I had a solid day on Monday going 2-1 (+4.00 units) but the USA game really crushed me. The World Cup could not have gotten off to a worse start for our guys...it's going to be damn near impossible to rebound and make it through after that loss. Here are my picks for Tuesday....

World Cup Record: 7-3-1 (+7.59 units)

    6/13

    Game 12: South Korea -0.5 (+101) vs. Togo 2**

I'm going to be really honest here. I didn't know Togo was a country until I saw the World Cup draw.... but that's really not why I am picking the South Koreans in this one. South Korea has been the top team from Asia for a long time and they bring another solid side to Germany. I look for them to get the win here and seriously challenge Switzerland and France for a spot in the knockout phase.

    Game 13: France -1 (+139) vs. Switzerland 2**

France was humiliated by their perfomance in the World Cup 4 years ago and they will be eager to make up for it with a strong perfomance in Germany. The French are one of the most talented sides in the Cup with names like Henry, Zidane, and Cisse (If you don't follow soccer you'll just have to trust me that those are big names) in their ranks. Switzerland is a solid European side as well but they do not have near the offensive firepower that the French possess.

    Game 14: Brazil -1 (155) vs. Croatia 3***

Brazil is the side that I, and just about everyone else in the world, have picked to win the World Cup. I placed a fairly large bet on them to win the Cup before it started and will be backing them all the way to the Final. Brazil is lead by Ronaldinho, the 2-time Fifa World Player of the Year, Ronaldo, who lead the last World Cup in scoring, Cafu, the only man to every see the field in 3 World Cup Finals (and is looking for a fourth) as well as international superstars Roberto Carlos, Kaka, Luciano, Adriano, Robinho, and on and on. The Brazilians are so loaded that many experts speculate that the country could have fielded two sides that would have been good enough to make it to Germany. In short, this is their Cup to lose, and I don't think they will. Enjoy the show.

Good luck and enjoy the Cup!

HUGE turnaround in the game. Korea scores AND a Togo player receives a red card.

1-1 and Togo is a man down for the next 35+ minutes...
