Nice winner with the Tigers yesterday.
Baseball Play of the Day (28-30, +1.60*)
Texas Rangers +138 (Padilla/Wakefield)
Of the list of reasons I like this play, my favorite is that I am betting on a team that just was beaten by the worst team in baseball against a team that just beat one of the best. Teams coming off victories over the Yankees have always been good fades the next day.
No discernible advantage either way in the starting pitching matchup, and both lineups are pretty strong (they both hit RHP very well). The Rangers actually are as good a road team as they are at home, and they rocked TW the only time they met this season. Wakefield has gotten very little run support so far this season, so his record is probably worse than his pitching has been, but I think going against him is the right call here. I really feel the Rangers steal this game.
Small personal play: North Carolina +107
The oddsmakers are, IMO, telling me UNC should be favored by making them close to even money here. North Carolina is unranked, and playing at #4 Alabama. Andrew Miller gets the start for UNC, and he is probably the best pitcher in college baseball.
