    Six-Pack for Friday
    The Jason Grimsley edition
-- In coming months, anyone who loves baseball is going to get very sick of the name Jason Grimsley, as names come out in various drug investigations. Grimsley has been major leaguer since 1989, so he touches on a lot of people. If you were his teammate, you're guilty by association, until the names start getting leaked. Here is a peripheral look at some of his teammates through the years
-- 1989-91, Phillies- Lenny Dykstra was teammate here, with current big league pitching coaches McDowell, Maddux. Dykstra got very big after leaving the Mets. Maybe he just busted his butt in the weight room. Maybe not.
-- 1993-95, Indians- Belle, Ramirez, Thome, Murray-- lot of big sluggers, as Indians became a contender. Tony Pena is also teammate here; he would later manage Grimsley when he was in Kansas City.
-- 1996, Angels- Most interesting name here is SS Velarde, who was also mentioned in BALCO investigation.
-- 1999-2000, Bronx- Grimsley has two World Series rings, playing with Clemens, Canseco, Rivera, Gooden, Soriano, Strawberry and Jeter. If the hideous YES Network does one of their Yankeeographies on an East German weightlifter, it could be a hint that something was up in the Bronx.
-- 2004-05, Orioles- Teammates? Palmeiro, Sosa. Unless he ran off to join the WWE, Grimsley couldn't have a pair of more suspicious teammates in this investigation.

Friday's List of 13: NBA Finals observations.........
Before we get into NBA stuff, a couple of other comments.
      13) Partial score: Texas 11, Kansas City 8, bottom of the third. Royals win game 16-12, leading to me to believe the Rangers might not have enough pitching to win the AL West.

      12) Steve McNair threw out first ball at Toronto-Baltimore tilt Thursday. He didn't get hurt doing it, and will be Ravens' QB this fall, as the Kyle Boller experiment goes in the ashcan.

      11) If I got drunk and was driven to a playground, I'd win in a free throw contest with Shaq (1-9 at line in Game 1); why can't he at least try to shoot underhanded? He is a liability the way he is now, because why post him up if he can't make anything from the foul line? It cost Miami bigtime in this game.

      10) Wade was 6-10 from line, Shaq 1-9, rest of team, 0-0; this might indicate a lack of balance in the Miami offense. Maybe.

      9) Terrell Owens wonders why people think he's a flippin' jerk, but then he shows up at the first NBA Finals game in history of Dallas Mavericks, and he sits at center court with a Miami jersey on. Owens is the newest DALLAS Cowboy. Way to be big guy, ingratiate yourself with your new fans. What an idiot

      8) Only bigger idiot is the person who signed him, thinking he will help the team win a Super Bowl. Those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it. Andy Reid must be chuckling

      7) Dallas was up 10 and Jason Terry had layup to make it 12, which would turn game into a semi-rout, but he blew layup, and Miami wound up with a wide open trey by Walker to tie game, but it missed, and Dallas won Game 1, but lesson for all the kids out there. Use the damn backboard on layups. .

      6) Erick Dampier had 8 points, 7 boards in 27:01 of solid play at backup center.

      5) Miami had 14 points in second quarter, 12 in fourth; their lack of scoring options is not a good sign in this series.

      4) Let's put it this way: Dirk doesn't go 4-14 that much, but it is 1-0 Dallas, anyway. Terry had 32 points, despite the layup mishap; he had 20 points at halftime.

      3) How did team that shoots as badly as the Heat get this far?

      2) You would have lost money if you bet on who would get the first hoop of series: Adrian Griffin hit short jumper as the Mavericks got early 2-0 lead.

      1) Team that wins Game 1 of Finals is 43-16 in that series.
