I thought we had an easy winner yesterday, but the Jays and O's could never push that last run across.
Baseball Play of the Day (27-30, +0.53*)
Let's recap the first two games of the Yankees/Red Sox series. The Yankees kill Josh Beckett, who I have previously said is the most glorified .500 pitcher in baseball history. This guy isn't that good, and until he figures out everyone can hit fastballs when they know they're coming, he will continue to be no better than Matt Clement. Anyway, the Yankees score 13 runs in the first four innings off Beckett and someone named Van Buren.
Since then, they haven't done anything offensively. They scored two runs (one of which was bogus) against a rookie named Paulley, who - while he might be very good eventually - wasn't nearly as good as the Yankees made him look. The Yankees never hit Schilling very well with all their stars playing, and now that most of them are missing, I really don't like their chances with Jaret Wright pitching for them. Boston also hits RHP better than NY, and the Red Sox won't lose three in a row here.
Red Sox -129 (Schilling/Wright)
This is probably the most juice I'll lay all year, but the situation calls for it. Good luck everyone.
