Well, I don't know what to say other than that two weeks ago I never thought I would have to win a game to avoid moving to the - for the year, but, that's the case tonight.
Baseball Play of the Day (26-29, +0.58*)
Toronto Blue Jays @ Baltimore Orioles Under 6 (-114) - First 5 Innings
The reason for this play is that both these bullpens are terrible, so I wouldn't be surprised if this game was 2-1 through 5, and still went over the total.
Everyone seems to like the over in this game - I think they're dead wrong. Baltimore hasn't shown the ability to hit Lilly at all in two losses against him. They are hitting around .230 against LHP on the season. They average a full run less per game against LHSP than RHSP.
Baltimore sends Cabrera to the mound. For him it's simple: if he's throwing strikes, there's noone better. In my projection of the 2010 season, Cabrera, Kazmir, and Liriano will be the best pitchers in baseball. Working with Leo Mazzone is turning his game around, and he has filthy stuff.
Anyway, Toronto hits lefties better than righties also, and they are averaging 0.9 fewer runs per game against RHSP. This game should go under, but I think the first five innings certainly will.
Small personal play (for 1/5th of what I played the above for): Phillies +160 (action)
I'd love Webb to get scratched, but this is the perfect spot to go against the D'Backs, who are off a road sweep of Atlanta, and now return home to play a team that was already out west. The Phillies lefty-laden lineup is as good as anyone to take against Webb.
