  • D Wade - Best in NBA

This guy has been cashing me tickets since his 2nd year at Marquette.

I will argue with anyone that he is the BEST player in the NBA today. Amazing how he still does not get the credit he deserves.

He does it all and please don't respond that he has Shaq.
He didn't have Shaq 3 years ago and still carried his team to the playoffs (unlike Lebron).

Hell, I even have his jersey and WEAR it!
Am I the longest tenured BC member?

Wade is great. I don't agree he's the best player in the NBA.

Best player in the NBA is KG if you get him on a real team.

        Frank, who is better?

Weaz, KG is great and had the best team in the NBA a few years back and he disappeared in the playoffs. Has he ever been out of the first round before or after that 1 year?

You won't argue it with me - he's the best defender of the 5 players most often mentioned as the best player in the league (Nash, Kobe, Dirk, Lebron being the others).
            Records:

            NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
            NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
            NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
            NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
            NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)

When I have these types of conversations part of my thought process is "if I'm starting a new team. I pick first and every player in the league is available who would I take first."

Duncan - probably the best all around player in the league. Only 30. Still lots of basketball left.

Kobe - No way. A great player. Brings to much negativity for my taste.

Iverson - great player. I'd take Wade over AI

Nowitzki - a good posibility. A big man that can move and score.

The closest comparisons are Lebron and Dwayne. Both are very young. Both are in the league for 3 years. Wade had the luxury of playing in college.

If I base my choice on what they've done to date. I'd choose Wade. However, I'd take Lebron. IMO long term Lebron will be the better player.

Also, Lebron did very well in his first taste of playoff action. Wade's been there. Wade had a better supporting cast. He's got the most dominate player in basketball on his team.

My choice would have to be DWade over Lebron or Kobe... DWade has proven to be a better shooter than LeBron. Lebron a better passer. The "D" is key. DWade plays it and Lebron doesn't. As far as a better supporting cast I have to disagree. I think are close to even. Cleveland is one of the hottest teams in the EAST and will be for a while. Cleveland took the sails out of DETROIT for Miami

Forgot about that MJ charge. DWade is beginning to know when to take over a game like Mike used to do for Chicago...

LeBron, Kobe, and Wade are the best 3. Lebron is probably the best all around player, but Wade is just nasty and so freaking clutch. With no disrespect to the other 2, Wade really REALLY elevates his game in the 4th Q all the time.

I am a HUGE Heat fan, so this is definately a "homer" opinion, but I AGREE 100% Wade is the best out there right now. Some of you made some great points, especially Frank, because Dirk is one of those players that is definately a possibility as the best. He is incredible for his size. But the two things I see different about DW compared to his peers. First and for most GREAT ATTITUDE, he is a responsible, accountable, TEAM PLAYER. Like the great ones who have gone before him (Magic, Bird, his Airness, even as far back as Doc) he makes those around him better. Hell, his ability to draw the double team and then give it up to the "Glove" for a couple 3's down the stretch last night......are you kidding me? The Glove down the stretch? Another factor that shows is how much RESPECT Shaq has for Flash, when one of the most dominant players of all time has that much respect for a player this young, that is based on attitude, character and ability. Second, as Molta said, he has learned when it is 'his" time just like his Airness did. I still think the comparisons, we give to Mike in regards to Dwayne and Lebron are very premature. But time will tell, and if I was building a team I would have NO problem picking Flash to build around. The NBA and America is in love with the big man, but come money time and the playoffs, these are the players that not only control the game, they are the ones who deliver championships. And anyone who seen Flash drain that jumper with two Pistons hanging on him last night must know they are watching, one of the best if not the BEST in todays game.
