  • TP's Monday 5/29

Well, Hendrickson was good - until cramps set in - but Wakefield was better. Made a nice rally in the 9th, but
I guess I'll take a little comfort that I beat the closing line by 30 cents, not that that means anything in a loss.

Baseball Play of the Day (26-25, +4.79*)

    Cleveland Indians -104 (Lee/Vazquez)
Indians average 6.35 rpg at home against RHP.
White Sox average 3.45 on the road against LHP (2-8 record).

Both of these pitchers have fared better at home. Lee is a lot better than he has pitched so far, and I'll take the home team at the small price.
    Records:

    NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
    NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
    NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
    NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
    NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)

Thanks Chuck. I personally don't consider that as big a factor in baseball as other sports, but that is a valid reason to pass the game.
I'm having two POD's today. It will be rare that I do this - but I've gone without a play of the day before, so I guess call this a makeup play - anyway, here it is.

      Milwaukee Brewers +101 (Davis/Duke)
Like I've said before, Zach Duke is a very good young pitcher, but he shouldn't be favored over good teams, especially if they are starting a lefty. The Pirates win Saturday was (complete bullshit and) their 2nd in 17 tries against a LHSP (scoring 3.8 rpg). Despite Duke's talent, the Bucs are only 2-8 in games he has started.
The Brewers, on the other hand, are killing LHP, averaging 6.1 rpg in going 8-4. On the road, it is even better, as they average over 7 rpg. Milwaukee is 8-3 in Davis's starts.

      To recap, two plays:
Indians -104 (I played it at Pinny earlier, -101 is now available at 5Dimes)
Brewers +101 (available at 5Dimes, most books are running between even and -105)
      Records:

      NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
      NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
      NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
      NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
      NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)
