  • Schilling with #200

The game ended with Papelbon getting his 3rd save in 3 days and all the players came out as they do and shake hands but Schilling was in the Clubhouse. The Red Sox went into the dugout and the fans just kept cheering waiting for Schilling to come out. A good 10 minutes went by and there were no players in sight but the fans (all of them) just wouldn't leave until he came out. The announcers did their post game and Remy said he has never seen anything like this where the fans simply wouldn't leave. Curt finally came out for a solid 5 minute standing "O".

I know, i know ... But it was pretty cool to watch the fans do that!

18 for 18 in Saves now and every single one of them have pretty much been dominating. He gets the loudest ovation now at games!

Little PApi is the real deal.

If he can close like this why would the sox ever make him a starter? I say just keep him int he Closer role

                    Welcome to the Forum!

I agree but for some ungodly reason, alot of people up here still want him starting. With our closer problems in the past, it would be CRAZY to take him out of that role if he keeps doing what he's doing!

Get a Friggin' starter and leave the pen alone!

No one in his right mind would move him to starter at this juncture;he is the best closer I have seen for Sox since well maybe Dick Radatz.

i'm sure its Bush's fault that the fans gave schilling a 5 min standing O after the game.

                        signed,
