Thanks guys. Rodrigo Lopez FINALLY pitched like he is capable of, so the Orioles provided a nice winner Thursday. As previously posted, I feel it is insane the Devil Rays are the underdog in this game, and I can't imagine they will be when the first pitch is thrown.
There is so much evidence that TB is the play here that I rambled a little more than usual, so I italicized some things that I think are especially interesting.

Friday Baseball Play of the Day (27-22, +7.84)

Tampa Bay Devil Rays +103 (Kazmir/Wells)
As I've said before, I really believe Scott Kazmir is the best pitcher in baseball right now. It's a shame he doesn't get more publicity. We're talking about a kid who is 7-1 in his last eight starts for one of the worst teams in baseball - the lone loss coming against Mussina at Yankee Stadium. He has sparkling overall numbers - 2.39 ERA, 8-2 overall record, WHIP of 1.28. But look at what he's done in his last five starts: 5-0 with a 0.79 ERA and a 0.9 WHIP. That is maybe the most impressive string of games recorded in my memory, especially since that included home wins over Boston and the White Sox, and road wins over Seattle and Oakland.
Kazmir owns the Red Sox as much as anyone can. The D'Rays have won 6 of his 9 career starts against Boston (once as a +440 dog), and 3 of 5 in Boston.

Then there's David Wells. This guy is old and out of shape. He has been on the DL since his lone start this season, back on April 12th. That saw him pitch 4 innings, give up 10 hits and 7 ER, including three HRs. His WHIP is 2.75, and his ERA is 15.75.

Along with all that, the Red Sox actually have a losing record against LHSPs this season - odd for a team in first place. They average 1.2 fewer rpg against LHSP, and the D' Rays average 0.6 more rpg against LHSP.
