Is there a pitcher in the major leagues worse right now than Randy Johnson? His ERA is nearly 8.00 his last five games and, tellingly, his strikeouts are way down. Yet, he's still being overvalued. Clement is only going okay for the Red Sox but he only has to be okay given how bad Johnson is going.
1* Devil Rays +150
How in the world can a pitcher with a 1-8 record be a -170 favorite???? Yet, that's what they're putting up on Josh Towers, who has been gasoline all year. Tampa is Tampa and their starter, Fossum, is iffy at best but getting +150 when the opponent has lost eight of the nine games its pitcher is starting is great value.
1* Orioles/Mariners OVER 8 (-120)
This is the third night in a row I've posted this play and it's hit each time. That's because Seattle has now gone over a startling ten of its last eleven games! This total is low because both teams are going with their best pitchers and Benson is off two great games in a row for the Orioles. But both teams have poor bullpens and are scoring a lot of runs. (There are some 8 1/2's out there at lower juice but grab the 8if you can find it, even if it means laying higher juice). Stick with a hot trend until it loses.
