Cinderella Cavs riding Lebron's significant coattails, but now, on verge of significant upset, can they finish job? Ilgauskus had six blocks in Game 5, but starting guards need to do better than 2-15 from floor, as they were in Game 5. Detroit guards missed 21 of 32 shots from floor, Wallace was 0-7 from line in 86-84 loss. Game 5 was first time Cavs led at halftime in series; all three Cav wins stayed under total; both Detroit wins went over.

Jason Terry played 43:16 in Game 5, he is suspended for Game 6, so Dallas bench has to pick up slack. Spurs' bench, in 41:50 of action, took total of five shots last game, and Bowen didn't take one shot in 33:37 on court, so their offense is limited to 4 guys. Obviously, four of five series games been very tight, so any pts worth taking with proud Spurs, who shot over 53% in each of last two games (Dallas shot 50.0,50.6%). Last four in series went over the total.

      Six-Pack for Friday
-- Because ABC doesn't want NBA Finals starting until the 8th of June, Game 7 of Clippers-Suns series is Monday, full four days after Game 6. No need for this long a break, but it has to work in Suns' favor, to let Steve Nash recharge.
-- Nash missed 14 treys in row before finally hitting one in first quarter Thursday. It was longest drought of his career. He looks tired.
-- Valparaiso will be joining the Horizon League soon, so we will be tracking the Crusaders for first time. Travel costs will be greatly reduced for Valpo in their new league, rather than the far-flung Mid-Continent Conference. .
-- Are the Mets really going to go with Lima, Gonzalez as 40% of their rotation? Bannister had another setback with his hamstring, so he's gone again for a while now.
-- Angels' struggles continue; they had 1st and 3rd, no one out in bottom of ninth, game tied, and they couldn't get the speedy Figgins home from third; then closer Rodriguez got smoked in 10th inning as Toronto took two of three at LA.
-- The Bulls really traded Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry? Even Isiah wouldn't have done that.

Friday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but..................
        13) In Cleveland's three wins against Pistons, Lebron James has sat out a total of one minute, 10 seconds of playing time. He is clearly the best player in the NBA.

        12) It is safe to assume that the Cavaliers wouldn't make the playoffs without James; so far, they're guaranteed six home playoff games. Figure an average crowd of 19,000 paying an average ticket price of $40…….

.......that gives Cleveland additional income of $4,560,000, and that is without parking, concessions, souvenirs, and the $40 average price is conservative. If the average was $50, income increases to $5,700,000.

        11) How many season tickets a year is Lebron worth? 5,000? Definitely, maybe more, but lets say 5,000, to make the math easier. 41 home games, at $40 a pop, creates $8.2M more in income for the Cavaliers, before they've sold a Lebron replica jersey, or anything else.

        10) Let's just put it this way: you can make an argument that Lebron James is one of the few pro athletes who is actually underpaid.

        9) Today's lesson, young fellas, and we'll include Lebron in this, is no matter how beautiful she is, get a pre-nup before you get married. Why?

        8) Paul McCartney's fortune is estimated at $1.56B, that's billion, with a B. His divorce might cost him 25% of that, or $390M, that's million, with an M. That's why.

        7) So far this baseball season, teams with left-handed starting pitchers are 132-108 (.550) when opposing teams with righty starters.

        6) Rocco Baldelli and David DeJesus are centerfielders for the Devil Rays, Royals; both are out with tight hamstrings. Why do I have the idea that if they were on good teams, those hammies would loosen up in a hurry?

        5) Milwaukee Brewers are first team in two years to post three walk-off wins in a row; good news for them, bad news for closer Derrick Turnbow, who gave up runs in all three games.

        4) The best umpires/referees are rarely noticed. Every time a game Angel Hernandez is umpiring behind the plate is on TV, I notice him. Players don't respect his judgement. For most part, his numbers suggest that he's a hitter's umpire, too.

        3) Health experts recommend walking an extra 2,000 steps (approx. 22 minutes) per day, and cutting 100 calories per day from your diet, to promote good health.

        2) Students who tried out for "Willie the Wildcat" the mascot at Northwestern U., were apparently victims of hazing, which included a false kidnapping of prospective Willies. Is nothing sacred? Now mascot prospects get hazed?

        1) By the way, TNT's Craig Sager was once Willie the Wildcat while a student in Evanston. No word on whether he has ever been kidnapped, although all his nice sportcoats apparently have been
