All four Miami-Net games been decided by 10+ points, as Miami won last three, and can end series here. Kidd was 5-16 from the floor in Game 4, as Heat making him beat them from the perimeter and he doesn't shoot well enough. Shaq just 2-9 from line in last game, but Miami shot 53% from floor and held Nets to 43%. Last gasp for Nets, who better bring their "A" game to South Beach. All three Miami wins went over; their loss stayed under.

Key variable in Suns-Clippers series seems to be production of Clipper guards, who shot 8-24 from floor in Game 3, but then in Game 4, Cassell went nuts, had huge game, so this becomes the pivotal fifth game. Suns were 10-36 from arc in last game, lot of perimeter shots. Somehow, Marion has to get inside for easier looks. Clippers have been +31/+18 on boards in their wins; in the losses, they've been +5/+1.

            Six-Pack for Tuesday
-- Lebron James is the best player in the NBA. Period. He is lifting his teammates to his level of play, which is what the truly great players do at this time of year.
-- James played all 96 minutes of Cleveland's two wins at home vs Detroit. He was in high school three years ago.
-- Brandon Webb had 4-0 lead in quest to get to 7-0, but he couldn't get Chan Ho Park (3-3) out, so he blew the lead; Snakes ended the Padres' winning streak, though.
-- If you need an office chair, the Aeron chair is simply an amazingly comfortable working chair. It looks ugly, but you can sit in the damn thing for hours, and feel great.
-- San Antonio-Dallas has had three games go right down to wire; will this hurt the survivor in their next series?
-- NBA might be a billion dollar industry, but at end of the day, games still come down to same things they come down to in high school: foul shots, rebounding and being able to get the ball in on an out-of-bounds play. Amazing.

Tuesday's List of 13: Random thoughts on wet, raw day.....
              13) There is a 57-year old guy in western Pennsylvania who will appear in ads for the NHL pretty soon. His name is really Mr. Stanley Cup. No one has ever tried to carry him around the ice, I don't think, at least, not yet.

              12) It is amazing-- every time someone is caught with drugs in their car, it is never theirs....what a coincidence.

              11) The next time college hoop team commits major violations, instead of probation, they should be sentenced to five years with Isiah Thomas running their program.

              10) New Duquesne hoop coach Ron Everhart got good news when his 6-10, shotblocking center from Northeastern, Shawn James, followed Everhart to Duquesne. James blocked over six shots a game last season in the CAA.

              9) Jimmy Smith won't make the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he did catch 526 more passes than HOF'er Lynn Swann, for 6,825 more yards. Helps to play in four winning Super Bowls.

              8) Rams didn't draft Missouri QB Brad Smith- they thought he had his heart set on still being a QB, but Jets have moved him to WR. I think he could play QB in the NFL; moving to whole new position won't be simple.

              7) Orioles allowed 69 runs in their last ten games. Even Leo Mazzone can't save this sorry bunch of hurlers.

              6) Garret Anderson has 6,925 career plate appearances, and has been hit by a pitch only five times.

              5) Milwaukee Brewers are fun to watch, but they are horrible in the field, the worst I've seen in quite a while.

              4) The first World Series of Poker had six players in it; 5,600+ were in last year's event, with more expected in August.

              3) Jonathan Kaye is currently 125th on PGA money list, with a healthy $272,433 in earnings. 30 guys have earned $1 million or more this season, to this point.

              2) If baseball playoffs started today, the AL would have Red Sox, White Sox, Rangers, Tigers.......NL would have Padres, Cardinals, Mets and Reds. Baseball playoffs don't start until beginning of October, but still, Reds/Tigers are a surprise.

              1) Our deepest sympathies to family of USC point guard Ryan Francis, who was killed in shooting over weekend. Life is too precious for it to end as early as Ryan's did.
