  • 3 Wise Men Monday 5/15/06 … 12-1 last 2 days … 2 team parlay paid 160 / 100

    The Week in Review:

Our 12 game winning streak was stopped last night when The Twins + 1 ½ Runs and scoring 7 runs in the first inning lost their game by a score of 9-7 . It was our 2nd double digit winning streak in this young season … ( 15 games late in April ) … San Diego swept The Cubs over the weekend and we had our top play on them in all 3 games … We went 33-23 last week , picking up a few bucks and ending the week on a 12 – 1 Run. This coming weekend the action turns to Interleague Play and I’m passing Interleague play this season. It’s a glorified exhibition schedule. There are a few good handicappers in BC who handle Interleague quite well. For the past 2 years us 3 Wise Men have not. Unless we prove we have the winning formula we will never play into anything we can not win. We’ll take it day to day in case there’s a non Interleague game thrown into the schedule … sometimes there is … otherwise it’s a pass. All the games will be capped in the usual manner and we’ll see if they fare any better than the previous 2 years. If there is a turnaround then we’ll consider playing them next year , albeit very lightly.

If you want to play 3 Wise Men Baseball effectively you’ll need 2 things :

1 ) Proper Capitalization ( first and foremost for anyone who decides to gamble on anything ) … a few rough days can mean swings in bankroll and you need the clout to endure them … if not, you will shy away and miss the great runs which we are known to have.

    2) A Firm Commitment …We officially started on April 23rd . It is now May 15 and we’re up anywhere from 1800 – 3000 depending on how you played the games … and more if your basic unit is greater than 100 . Not bad for 3 weeks , but there have been up and down swings along the way. Hit and miss ( cherry picking ) is a sure fire recipe for failure.

Some people do it but 3 Wise Men never lay -1 1/2 Runs with a home team. Avoid Houston -1 1/2 Runs altogether.

Maybe you can play Houston -150 in a hook up with San Diego + 1 1/2 Runs as a high line parlay instead.

              Hope this helps,

Maybe keep your guy and add on another ... It's always a good idea to have more than one. Situations come up with middles, line differences , etc.

                  Good Luck Dawg !!

Hold on-as someone pointed out once, you can lay 1 run even if your book doesn't offer it.
You simply place half your bet on the money line (eg Houston today) and the other half at -1 1/2.
Unless my math is wrong, it comes out the same.
