Not only have Pistons dominated series, but tragic passing of Hughes' 20-year old brother has Cleveland guard doubtful for Game 3. Pistons shot 10% lower in Game 2 than first game, but they got to line 42 times, after being 14-18 in Game 1. Detroit is 25-47 from arc in series, with total of just 18 turnovers. Cavaliers were better on boards in Game 2 (+13) but they're overmatched.

Long gap between games for Spurs-Mavs, after Dallas whacked Spurs 113-91 in Game 2, making 35-43 fouls hots and turning ball over just six times. Mavs went small, using Devon Harris-- how will San Antonio adjust to that lineup here? They're just 7-26 on the arc in series, so one thing, they need to shoot it better.

          Six-Pack for Saturday
-- We talked about how Clippers hadn't won playoff series since '76, when they were the Buffalo Braves, but I never realized that Braves fired Jack Ramsey after the season, and he went to Portland and won an NBA title the next season.
-- Do Clipper fans believe in the Curse of Dr Jack?
-- Not sure what excuse Phil Mickelson used for pulling out of Byron Nelson event in Dallas this week, but he showed up at courtside for Game 3 of Clipper-Sun series Friday.
-- Suns missed fifteen treys in row at one point, but ended game on 15-2 run to take 2-1 edge in series over Clippers.
-- Phoenix scores under 100, still wins, very good sign for team that was 0-4 in playoffs when scoring under 100.
-- Angels scored 24 runs in their last two games, after they scored total of 20 in their previous nine. Baseball is weird.

Saturday's List of 13: Baseball by the numbers..........
I found the amazing book, "Now Batting, Number.." compiled by Jack Looney. Excellent stuff; here are tidbits that I got from this book, which is well worth $29.95, by the way....

            13) Ivan DeJesus and Freddie Patek both hit for the cycle, but Babe Ruth and Roger Maris never did.

            12) Wes Parker is the only Los Angeles Dodger to hit for the cycle; Parker was better known as slick fielding first baseman.

            11) Joe Morgan is the only Hall of Famer who played for the Houston Colt 45's, who later became the Astros.

            10) Rey Ordonez is the only Gold Glove winner who wore the number 0.

            9) The number 4 has been retired eight times, more than any other number (Kiner, Molitor, Gehrig, Ott, among others)

            8) Gaylord Perry is the only Hall of Famer who played for the Seattle Mariners.

            7) Kirby Puckett is the most recent of only five players who hit .300+ in 100+ games, in their last major league season.

            6) Roberto Clemente is the only Hall of Famer ever to wear number 13; he wore it as a rookie, then switched to #21.

            5) No player has ever won a home run, RBI, slugging %age or a batting championship while wearing number 13. Of course, Kurt Warner won a Super Bowl wearing #13, but I digress.......

            4) Phil Niekro won 318 games in his career, but when he was 30 years old, he had only 31 career wins.

            3) White Sox are only franchise to retire the number of pair of shortstops: Luke Appling (#4), Luis Apiricio (#11).

            2) Lou Brock stole 888 bases while wearing the number 20; Rickey Henderson stole 871 while wearing #24, 532 wearing #35, for total of 1,403, but Brock holds the record for the most steals wearing the same number.

            1) Bret Saberhagen wore two Cy Young awards while wearing two different uniform numbers; he wore #31 in '85, #18 in '89.
