If I was Yankee management I'd take Soriano for Randy in a heart beat.

So you are basing a 34 yr old journeyman career on his 9 starts in 2005? How has he done this year? Or in 2003? And you wouldn't trade him for a 30 yr old that is guaranteed to go 30-30? I wish you were the GM of the Yankees. It would be rather comical.

If you would read my reply I said trading Johnson AND Small would be a BIG Mistake.. Make sure you read and understand it completly before you make crazy ass accusations.. Who the hell would give up a starter and a quality middle relief pitcher for 1 player?? Make no sense.. I would give Johnson up in a heartbeat but not both him and Small..

okay,,I guess my bad...I just re-read it and it still sounds to me as though Small is an untouchable, which would go back to your thinking that Small, Chacon and Rivera are the only quality pitchers on the Yankee staff. So I understand, are you calling Aaron Small a quality middle reliever?

Small was a starter last season and now he is a middle reliever... And yes he is a quality middle reliever..

What would you like to wager that Aaron Small is either not on the roster or a mop up man by the All-Star break?

the good thing about baseball is that for the most part you are what the back of your baseball card says you are.....small had a great year last year....but i would bet he comes down to earth a little and is what he is.....an average pitcher....the sox lit him up the other night.....i am sure it will not be the last time....as far as soriano to the yanks.....it would be another coup for steinbrenner and if anyone can get it done it is him.....however, who in their right mind would take johnson and that bloated contract for a 42 yr old broken pitcher.....

Tony...we should call you the voice of reason. You are absolutley 100% correct...except, imo, A. Small is not even average. He is a mop up guy. He was unbelievable and saved the Yankees hide last year, along with Chacon- but it was 10 starts. He has pitched for 7 teams in 12 years. Has a career ERA over 5. I just think it is funny when people tkae a 10 week span over a 12 yr career and expect that to be what they get moving forward.

And he was out of baseball for 4 of those years...7 teams in 8 yrs.

You are righton the money TTT.

I actually like Scott Proctor. I think he has nasty stuff but he just hasn't put it all together. Maybe this year.
