Ottawa outshot Sabres in all three games, been favored in all of the games, and lost all three; they have quick turnaround here to avoid series sweep. Pair of power play goals in third period allowed Senators to force overtime, but they lost by goal third time in row, second OT loss in series. Senators could use quick start; they haven't scored in first period last two games.

Colorado also looking to avoid sweep at hand of Ducks, who've killed off 19-19 penalties in series. At least Colorado scored in Game 3, after Anaheim hadn't allowed goal in 11 periods. Avs have controlled faceoffs in all three games (36-30/40-34/36-29) but its useless, unless they put the biscuit in the basket.

      Six-Pack for Thursday
-- Why do baseball teams need a captain? What do they do? Leaders emerge more often than they're elected.
-- It is 2:20am, time to go to bed, but Sharks-Edmonton tilt is in intermission after second OT; what a terrific game, too bad no one in the east is seeing it. NHL needs Edmonton to win the game, or else all four second round series are 3-0.
-- Interesting discussion during bad Met game Wednesday about how shorter, righthanded pitchers get discriminated against in minor leagues. Scouts like big guys who light up the radar gun, not smallish, clever guys.
-- Clippers' improvement in Game 2 is traced to their getting ball inside more and crucifying Suns on offensive boards.
-- Does anyone think Indiana will actually fire hoop coach Sampson for what happened at Oklahoma? The AD stuck his neck out to hire Sampson; if he fires him before he has coached a game, then the AD is next on the firing line.
-- NBA people get $102 per diem on the road. My take home pay isn't $102 a day. Anyone need an assistant coach?

Thursday's List of 13: Our fantasy sports list.......
13 ways you know your fantasy sports activity takes up too much of your time:

        13) You can't remember your wedding anniversary, but you can quote stats of every outfielder in Pacific Coast League.

        12) You root for accidents in NASCAR races, because the driver you have has a slow pit crew, and needs to get back on the lead lap. (Yes, there are NASCAR fantasy leagues)

        11) You wonder if the two George Bushes are any relation to Reggie Bush.

        10) You pout because you forgot that picking John Daly in Las Vegas or New Orleans might not be the smartest idea in the world.

        9) You e-mail the coaches of all players on your NHL fantasy team, requesting they all be put on their team's power plays. You include solid reasoning behind each move, and expect the coaches to not only read your e-mails, but accept your advice.

        8) You watch baseball's AAA All-Star Game, and take notes; in between innings, you renew your subscription to Baseball America.

        7) You'd rather hang around with Lindsey Hunter than Lindsay Lohan.

        6) Your kids ask you to help them with math, and you teach them division, using batting averages as an example.

        5) You stay up until midnight, so that at 12:01am on the first of the month, you can add the best available prospect with your first pickup of that month. You take pleasure in knowing that someone else tried to pick up the same guy at 12:02am.

        4) You can tell the difference between Amare, Salim and Damon Stoudemire.

        3) Your kid gets suspended from school for a week, your wife makes you sleep on the couch, your dog has fleas, but it's a good day because Khalil Greene went 3 for 4 and Cory Lidle pitched a shutout.

        2) Remember Charlie Sheen in Wall Street? He's got a young Daryl Hannah as an overnight guest, but he's up in middle of night, checking stock prices. If you've ever done this with your fantasy teams, you may have a problem, even if you've never had Daryl Hannah as an overnight guest.

        1) You fail to realize that no one in the world cares about your fantasy teams, except for the other people in your league, and they all want you to lose.
