Dude, its a business...no one generates the revenue the Yankees do so no one can spend it like the Yankees do. George is a brilliant business man and has built the most lucrative sports franchise in the history of sports. No one else can compete on his level in terms of spending it. It is a business model.

As for the Mets, they have been in the top 5 for years in payroll. To say they haven't spent it is wrong. They have...unfortunately not wisely. And the common baseball fan will say that the Mets went nuts and spent a ton of money this off season on Delgado, Lo Duca, Wagner.... Well, there payroll is actuall less than last year. Their budget is around $100 million, which is $90 million less than the Bronx Bombers. I wish my team could spend it like that! I am jealous!
