I am really excited about today's games. In fact, I am going to play 5 games, all for 2 units. I think I have solid reasoning for each. Here they are:
NYY -142 over the BoSox. Johnson v Beckett. Beckett has had 3 horrible outings in a row. Randy hasn't been stellar, but good to enough to win his last 3. Red Sox have not historically hit Johnson AT ALL. Ortiz (3/18, .167), Manny (7/36, .194), Snow (4/26, .154), Lowell (5/30, .167), Loretta (3/38, .079), Gonzalez (5/20, .250), Varitek (.278) and Nixon (0/3). Yankees have won 5 straight (altho Boston has won 4 straight).
SD -103 v Milw. Hensley v Davis. Pads have won 9 in a row and are hitting really well of late. Hensley has an ERA of under 3 his last 5 starts. Davis has struggled, ERA over 5.5 last 5, WHIP over 15 last 3.
Det -104 v Balt. Robertson v Cabrera. The two pitchers have virtually the same ERAs over the last 5 starts. Robertson's last 2 starts have been stellar!! Baltimore is 4-16 v LHP in their last 20!! Baltimore is struggling, losers of 5 in a row.
LAD +106 v Houston. Seo v Pettitte. Stros really struggling right now. BP is terrible, Lidge is lucky to have only 3 blown saves. Pettitte's ERA well over 5 in his last 5 road starts. The Dodgers have scored at least 5 runs in all 8 of their games against a left-handed starter this year!!!!!!!
SF -1 -121 v Cubs. Schmidt v Hill. No contest here. Cubs are also in terrible form, losers of 7 in a row. Hill's ERA is over 10 in his last 5 starts. Schimdt is starting to regain his form, with 2 really nice outings in row. Barry will be looking for #714 tonight, which will have the Giant fans out in force, which should get the team fired up and intimidate the tentative Cubbie line-up.
OK, there you have it. GL with whatever you play!
