Well, yesterday was a pretty good day, as the POD won relatively easily as a nice dog, and the Sabres won to take a 2-0 lead in their series with the Senators. I also went 1-1 on personal plays, hitting a 2-team parlay that paid slightly better than +170, but taking a nasty loss with the Devils, who gave up the tying goal with 3 seconds left, and lost in OT.
Tuesday's Baseball Play of the Day
Phillies +132 (Myers/Martinez)
The Phillies started out playing poorly at home, but have won their last five by a combined score of 32-16 (6.4-3.2 avg). Opponents are only averaging 3.0 rpg against the Phillies in Myers' starts, though his record isn't as great as it could be because of an early lack of run support.
Myers is the Phillies ace, and the Phillies easily beat the Mets the only other time these two pitchers have matched up, an 8-2 win at Shea Stadium last season. Philadelphia hits RHP hard, and despite it being Pedro, I think they will support Myers enough here.
Pedro faced the Phils 3 times last season, and the Phillies scored 4 rpg. All those games were at Shea. This one is in Philly, and the atmosphere should be a little extra intense - as not only are these teams at the top of the NL East, they also welcome back Billy Wagner, who isn't a popular figure in Philly. Give me the home team and the generous price.
Good luck everyone.
