I won't say anything bad about Torre because believe it or not, i do respect him and the job he has done with the Yanks. I can't call him one of the "Great" managers of baseball because it is hard to seperate what he has had to work with financially/talent with the Yanks compared to the previous 3 teams where he had to actually manage at the top of his game to win. All 3 teams we're not low profile OR the lowest payroll teams and he was a below .500 manager. It wasn't one place, or two, it was 3 and he couldn't get it right anywhere.
My take on him as one of the greatest would be considered "Incomplete"! I would like to see what he could do somewhere else in baseball (anywhere) where the payroll is going to be 70-170 Million less than what he works with.
The reason i think he has done a solid job with the Yankees isn't because of his moves on the field as much as how good he is at controlling the Ego's on and off the field and making that work!
