Krstic has been spark for Nets in winning last two games, with 20,19 points; Carter had seven assists in Game 5, as Nets moved ball, found open man. Teams split earlier pair of games at Indy, with both going over total. Pacers are 2-1 in series if they take 30+ foul shots, 0-2 if they don't; they're 0-3 if they don't score 90 points- they got 90, 107 in their two wins. .

Not sure of extent of Wade's injury, but he sucked it up in Game 5, coming back in third quarter, when Miami was down five, and they took game over from that point on, winning by 14. Home side is 5-0 in this series, though, with Miami losing previous tilts at United Center (109-90/93-87). Walker and Shaq combined to go dismal 8-25 from line in Game 5-- not good.

Raja Bell is suspended for this game; whether that is fair or not is irrelelevant. Suns need to replace the 36-38 hard minutes Bell gives them every night. Two games Phoenix won in series, they scored 107,114 points; they scored 93-92-98 in losses, so House or Jones or Barbosa has to step up and give D'Antonio a stellar performance. Lakers had 20 turnovers in Game 5; they won first two home games in series. Can they pull off the upset?

-- Do the Cubs miss Derrick Lee? They got shut out the last two times they faced a lefty at Wrigley Field.
-- There were two major league games last night with zero walks: Royals-Twins had 15 strikeouts, Giants-Brewers had 13 strikeouts. Pirate-Met game had 7 walks, 28 strikeouts.
-- Antoine Walker and Shaq combined to go 8-25 from foul line Tuesday; you could go into any bar in America, pull a drunk guy out to your car, drive him to playground, and I bet you he'd hit at least eight of 25. Not good.
-- Going price for the Nationals' franchise is $450 million; imagine what it would be if they were any good?
-- NBA suspended Raja Bell for Game 6 of Suns-Lakers; my question is this: How come Luke Walton wasn't suspended for his hit on Tim Thomas? Oh, Tim Thomas isn't a star? Ahhhh........now I understand.
-- Tony Parker might become a baseball fan: according to Baseball America, the #1 position player prospect in this June's baseball draft is 3rd baseman from Long Beach State whose name is Evan Longoria.

Thursday's List of 13: Random thoughts on a spring day
        13) Message inside my fortune cookie Wednesday night:
"Failure is the tuition you pay for success."

        12) Whats up with Coors Field? Of the first fourteen games in Denver this season, nine of them stayed under total. Part of it is that Colorado finally has some ground ball pitchers, which is why they're playing better this season.

        11) Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Jason Bay were all traded out of the Montreal farm system, which helps to explain why the now-Washington Nationals are a dreadful team.

        10) The West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx are a AA farm team in the Southern League; their owners recently put club up for sale. Asking price? Try $12.5 million. But AA umpires earn only $12,000 a season. Go figure.

        9) Tony Gwynn's San Diego State baseball team recently lost 14 games in row and is suffering through a 9-24 start to their season. Aztecs play harder non-conference schedule than a majority of Mountain West teams, but still.......

        8) Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Justin Upton as shortstop with first pick of '05 draft, but he will be moved to center field.

        7) Atlanta Braves used 18 different rookies, just last season.

        6) 49ers' QB Alex Smith played on same high school team as Reggie Bush; they must have been pretty good.

        5) How do White Sox produce so many good center fielders? They have rookie Brian Anderson out there now, after they traded both Jeremy Reed and Aaron Rowand.

        4) The A's had a pitching prospect last couple years named Jairo Garcia; they still have him, but his name is now Santiago Castilla-- he was discovered to be using a false passport. Oh yeah, he's also three years older than he claimed to be.

        3) Should veteran players who come over from Japan be in running for Rookie of Year honors? Are they really rookies?

        2) Last pitcher the Reds drafted who contributed in Cincinnati was Brett Tomko; problem is, they drafted him in 1995.

        1) Capper Zeke's analysis of Friday's Kentucky Oaks:

        1. Balance - Going to be hard to go past probable favorite. Filly won two G-1 races in Santa Anita and then chased lone speed on Keeneland strip which always favors speed types. She should sit just off cheap speed and take over at the top of the lane.

        2. Wonder Lady Anne L - One of two fillies that have won at today's distance. Has been freshened up by Dutrow and has been training steadily at Palm Meadows facility. I'm a big fan of longer workouts and this filly has four 6 furlong works on her tab. She should be sitting mid-pack and making a strong run through the lane.

        3. Itty Bitty Pretty - Broke from outside post and ran evenly in return to racing following two-month break. Had no shot on speed surface. Regular rider Pat Valenzuela returns today and this filly will be tighter for today's effort and will make her presence felt in the stretch.
