Three of four Indiana-Net games went over total. Key for Nets in Game 4 win was finally finding fourth scorer as Krstic had 21 points. For series, Pacers have 72 turnovers, Nets 39, but Jersey is 14-59 beyond arc for series. Nets led last three games, but the two games that were close at half were games Indiana won.

Home team is 4-0 in Chicago-Miami series. Heat shot 48.1% and 52.4% in their wins, 41.7$/41.6% in losses- they had 63,68 pts at halftime of wins, 42,40 in last two games. In its two home games, Bulls took 77 foul shots, Miami 38, so how game is officiated is critical here. Higher scoring game, better for the Heat.

Home team is 4-0 in Spurs-Kings series; San Antonio scored 125 ppg in two home wins, both of which went over, then 93,84 in its losses at Arco- they both stayed under. Spurs went 9-33 on 3's at Arco, after being 23-43 at home. Artest has done good job on Ginobili, so who on Spurs steps up and makes some shots?

Suns go home down 3-1 after late-game collapse in Game 4- how do they react after refs hosed them Sunday? Phoenix scored 107 points in their win, 93-92-98 in losses- all four games went under the total. Odom took fourteen foul shots in Game 4-- whole Suns squad took fifteen. Phoenix needs faster game, and they need to make some 3-pointers. Lakers forcing Nash to shoot a lot.

      Tuesday's NHL playoff games

Carolina won last three games, after falling behind 2-0 in series at home; they can close out here vs Montreal club they held to three goals in two games on this ice. Habs haven't scored first or third period goal in last three games; they had four goals in third period in first two games. Hurricanes are 3-0 when games go under, 0-2 when they go over.

Home side is 5-0 in Buffalo-Philadelphia series; Flyers need to extend that streak to force Game 7. Flyers scored nine goals in two home games (2-13 on power play); they had four goals in three losses (1-11 on power play). Sabres are 4-10 on power play last two games, after being 3-28 in first three games.

Clippers' owner Donald Sterling credits Raiders' owner Al Davis with convincing him to hire Mike Dunleavy as coach
-- Have to laugh with cbssportsline.com columnist Gregg Doyle, who called the AD at NC-Wilmington "an imbecile" for letting coach Brownell bolt to Wright State. Something about the word "imbecile" that is most always funny.
-- In the first 27 hours after Cardinals drafted Matt Leinart, they sold 1,500 new season tickets.
-- 49 underclassmen made themselves eligible for the NFL Draft; 27 of them got drafted. The other 22 got bad advice.
-- Padres couldn't think too much of Doug Mirabelli, since they gave him back to Red Sox after a month. Would be fun to know exactly how much money changed hands there.
-- Congrats to the Clippers on their first playoff series win in thirty years. Wouldn't it be something if they won it all?

Tuesday's List of 13: Our offseason look at the Buffalo Bills
          13) When it comes to game preparation, Buffalo is going to miss Mularkey, who has always been strong on first drives of a half, dating back to his Pittsburgh days.

Last year, Bills outscored opponents 57-14 on first drive of games, holding foes to 17.9 yards per opening drive, lowest figure in NFL. They won't do as well in 2006.

          12) Buffalo was 4-4 last year with Holcomb starting at QB, 1-7 with Losman; in eight games Holcomb started, Bills scored 16 TDs on 82 possessions (19.5%), were +5 in turnover margin. In other eight games, Buffalo scored seven TDs on 73 drives (9.6%), with a -1 TO ratio.

Is there any doubt who the starting QB should be?

          11) With Harvard-graduated Marv Levy running the Bills, did that give Yale alum Dick Jauron an edge in the head coaching search?

With former coach Mularkey now the offensive coordinator in Miami, it adds some spice to Bill-Dolphin games.

          10) Bills were 0-3 on road in AFC East, but losses were by 5,1, 4 points; they outgained Patriots 394-273 in Foxboro, led 3-0 at half, but lost 21-16; in five red zone drives in the two games vs New England last year, Buffalo kicked three FGs and had two empty trips- they'll need to do better than that.

          9) Bills' drafting was off the expected path, so those players will be scrutinized closely; Buffalo has one of lower season ticket bases in the NFL, so they need to win games to sell out the frigid home games of December and late November.

          8) Buffalo ran ball for 141+ yards in five of first eight games last year, but in next seven games, Bills ran ball for average of just 61 ypg, with 92 yards the most in that 2-5 stretch.

          7) Want reasons why Buffalo went defense in their draft? Bills were last in NFL in third down defense, with opponents successful 46.5% of time (93-200).

          6) They also allowed 5.35 yards per red zone drive, meaning that every time opponents got inside Buffalo 20-yard line, they scored almost a TD per possession- the next worst average was 5.12 ppd.

          5) Buffalo forced only other team to go 3-and-out 43 times; only Houston (41) forced less; Bills' 26.4% of forcing 3-and-outs was worst percentage in NFL.

          4) Bills started 44 drives 80+ yards from goal line, and went 3-and-out on 18 (40.9%); their 0.86 ppd on these drives ranked 25th in NFL, and 40.9% on 3-and-outs ranked 28th in 32-team NFL. Simply put, they need to move chains more.

          3) When drives started in other teams' territory, Bills were poor on both sides of ball, scoring 2.42 ppd (30th) on drives they started in enemy territory, while allowing 4.42 (also 30th) on drives started in their territory.

          2) Jauron gets thrown in fire right away, as Bills open with all three AFC East foes in order, starting at Patriots/at Dolphins; their only other brutal road game is Week 10 at Indy; they get cold weather Chargers, Dolphins at home in December. Three of their eight road games are in domes. Overall, a manageable schedule.

          1) All in all, Buffalo franchise comes across as confused; the labor agreement seemed to be made with teams like Buffalo in mind, yet Ralph Wilson came out against agreement, saying he didn't understand it. After seeing them draft Losman, then letting Mularkey walk and they way they drafted this year, I don't understand the Bills, either.
