Milwaukee shot 60.3% from floor Saturday, scored 124 points in rout of Detroit, after scoring 74,98 in first two games, shooting a paltry 35.6%,43.5% from floor; Detroit still had 37-22 edge in foul shots tried, but Redd hit for 40-- when was last time someone lit up the Pistons for 40?

Memphis had their hearts torn out by Nowitzki Saturday, as he stuck game-tying trey off scramble with 0:15 left to tie game in regulation. Grizzlies cut their turnovers down to 11, but shot just 40.8% from floor, as their FG% has gone down every game. At 0-11 in playoff games in franchise history, Memphis needs a W.

Kenyon Martin is done for series (team suspension), but after a dismal exhibition in Game 4, the rest of the series might just be this game, anyway. Clippers haven't won a playoff series since they were the Buffalo Braves in 1976. All four series games have stayed under the total.

      Monday's NHL playoff games

Detroit has outshot Edmonton in all five games, had the edge in faceoffs in all five, but lost three, and has one win in regulation, so they need road win here, vs Oiler club that they've outscored 9-1 in third period of games. Oilers own 8-2 scoring edge in 2nd period of games, and they have hot goalie in Roloson, as total shots on goal in series is 202-126, in favor of Detroit.

Calgary won games 1,3,5; Anaheim won games 2,4; visiting team owns 8-1 scoring edge in third period. Four of five games have been decided by one goal. Flames own 6-2 scoring edge in 2nd period, but have been outshot in four of the five games. Ducks are 5-22 on power play last three games, after being 0-11 with a man advantage in first two games of series.

-- The Reds have the best record in the National League?
-- Strange sight in Houston; a huge billboard on highway pushing Ray Nagin for Mayor. Weird thing is, Nagin was running for mayor of New Orleans, thats how many people from the Big Easy are still living in Houston area.
-- Detroit outscored the Twins 33-1 during their sweep of Minnesota this weekend.
-- Tough day in the Bronx for young umpire Dowdy, after both managers got tossed for arguing balls and strikes.
-- If Danny Graves is in your bullpen, your pitching needs help, and yes, Cleveland, I mean you.....
-- OK, so what does Mel Kiper do today?

Monday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but.........
          13) Tremendous sports weekend, and they didn't even run at Talladega yet (noon, Monday). All four major teams sports in action, if you count the NFL Draft, plus an amazing finish at the New Orleans Open golf tournament. Solid entertainment.

          12) Craig Couch chipped in from off the green from 55 feet for par to win his first PGA tournament, after he made a par putt of 12-feet on 17 to keep his lead. Couch turns 33 Monday, so it is safe to assume he'll have a happy birthday, since he had won only $22,000+ for the year up to this point.

          11) 49-year old Fred Funk shot 62 Sunday to finish T2nd. He might do pretty well on the Seniors' Tour when he hits 50.

          10) Lot of pressure on Stephen Gostkowski, the kicker from Memphis that New England drafted to replace Adam Vinatieri I mean, if he has 42-yarder in the snow to win a playoff game, has he ever even kicked in the snow before?

          9) 19 of 22 Steelers who started in Super Bowl were drafted by the organization; their stability is so unique in today's sports; they've only had two head coaches since 1969.

          8) Trent Green will be a star on TV, as soon as he wants to be.

          7) When Falcons' took Georgia's DJ Shockley late in draft, it could have been pre-emptive strike against signing Marcus Vick as a free agent QB. Young Vick seems headed to Canada if he wants to play pro football this season.

          6) Of Packers' first seven draft picks, three were receivers and another two were offensive linemen, so Brett Favre should be a happier #4 today.

          5) There is rumor floating around that Tony Dungy might be candidate to become the next Commissioner of the NFL.

          4) The NHL's tradition of teams shaking hands after a playoff series never gets old to watch.

          3) All major league ballclubs should have names on back of their road uniforms.

          2) When I do my piece on sports' great mysteries, one of the best questions will be this: Why do basketball teams play so much better at home than on the road?

          1) Either next year or the year after, some college QB will get talked into the NFL Draft a year before he's ready, because a scumweasel agent will show him how Matt Leinart lost small fortune by staying in college this past year. The kid will go in the draft, he won't get drafted or he'll get cut, and his career will go in the ashcan, because his agent is a greedy weasel.
