Where six well-known people were drafted when it was their turn to be drafted into the NFL:
-- Bill Parcells was a 7th-round pick of the Lions in 1964.
-- ESPN's Lee Corso was 29th-round pick of the Chicago Cardinals in 1957. He was quarterback at Florida State- one of his running backs back then was actor Burt Reynolds.
-- John Madden was 21st-round pick of the Eagles in '58.
-- Former Purdue basketball coach Gene Keady was drafted in 19th round by the Steelers in '58; he had been a QB at Kansas State as a college player.
-- Hall of Famer Deacon Jones was drafted by the Rams in the 14th round in '61, which means that today, he probably wouldn't have been drafted.....whoops.
-- Miami Heat coach Pat Riley was an 11th-round pick of the Cowboys in '67. He's done OK in basketball.

Sunday's List of 13: Notes, observations from the NFL Draft
                  13) For the first time, NFL Network also covered NFL Draft, so we had a choice of what to watch; as usual, NFL Network was more serious, but both were watchable. ESPN doesn't let Mel Kiper talk enough. Less voices would be better for them.

                  12) When Minnesota drafted Iowa LB Greenway, he became the first Hawkeye LB drafted in any round since 1990.

                  11) Over last four years, Jets are 21-16 when Pennington is in at QB, and 8-19 when he isn't, so smart to draft a lineman who will protect him.

                  10) Most teams give first round picks the generic #1 jersey at the podium, but Tennessee had Vince Young's #10 all ready to go-- this is a great pick for the Titans.

                  9) Rams have gone longest of any NFL team since drafting a QB in first round-- last time they did was Bill Munson in 1964; Munson wound up as a decent QB for the Lions for a while.

                  8) Mario Williams may have signed a $54M contract, but as far as the guaranteed money goes, it is worth $26.1M.

                  7) Arizona Cardinals are only NFL team to have losing record in each of their last seven seasons.

                  6) Four of first nineteen players drafted played defense in '05 for the Florida State Seminoles.

                  5) Not sure about LenDale White's conditioning, but he won't have trouble learning Tennessee's playbook, since it is same offense they ran at USC.

                  4) Another USC guy, Winston Justice, also slipped into the aecond round; that was because of more serious character issues that included multiple arrests.

                  3) Surprisingly, Reggie Bush is first USC running back picked in first round since Marcus Allen in 1982.

                  2) For the first time since 1996, Miami Hurricanes didn't have a player drafted in top fifteen of the draft.

                  1) If everyone in America did their job as well as Mel Kiper Jr this would be a better country. The man is an encyclopedia

Wizards only played seven guys in Game 3, saw their shooting percentage go up to 47.9% (from 40.8%,39.7%), but still lost, as their turnovers went up to 18 (from 10,11). Lebron hit tough shot in traffic to win it late, and Cavaliers can assume stranglehold on series with win here.

Shaq was awful in Game 3, as Heat turned ball over 19 times, and Bulls went to foul line 46 times, after getting there total of 43 times in first two games. Chicago has shot 45.5%,53.2% and 46.2% in first three games, so they're getting good shots. In first two games, Miami had 63,68 pts at half; they had 42 in 3rd game.

Suns are just 19-50 on 3's last two games, scoring 93,92 points; they scored 107 pts in Game 1 win- they were 9-20 from arc then. Lakers are getting much better balance in scoring, and have won rebounding battle all three games (+11,+4,+19). All three series games have stayed under total; would expect Suns to try and push the pace more in this game.

Sacramento hit running layup at buzzer to steal Game 3; after the Spurs scored 125 ppg in first two games, they had 93 in Game 3; Spurs were 17-23 from line in third game, after averaging 34 foul shots/game in first two- they hit 23-43 treys in two home games, but only 6-20 at Arco. Kings need to keep Spurs under 100.
