AND they gave up a 3rd and 4th for him....that sounds like way to much. You are right, Williams or White makes a lot more sense but I guess they think Holmes replaces Randle-El.

Why replace an average reciever, stupid pick, gave up way to much for him. I hope i am wrong but this looks stupid to me
I like the pick of Holmes. I'm a huge Steelers fan, since the early 80s. I agree they did give up a lot for him, but they guessed he might not have been around by #32. I don't think our need at RB is as pressing as our need for a good #2 WR to give Big Ben another weapon. With Parker, Staley and the underrated Hayes, I think the Steelers are okay in the backfield. Holmes gives Ben a good #3 passing option behind Ward and Miller. His speed will allow them to stretch the passing game which was missing when Plex left. Holmes also gives us a speed threat on punt and kick off returns. I love this pick by the Steelers. Plus, White's stock has dropped so much that he may still be available at #64 when the Steelers are up again.
I agree with Kappa JC, Holmes has a lot of speed and playmaking ability. I think his versatility in being able to return kicks on special teams makes this a good pick.
