Pistons won first two games by 18,11 points, holding Bucks to 35.6% from floor in Game 1, then shooting 50.6% from floor in last game. None of six series to go three games have seen a 3-0 lead yet, but Bucks have ton of ground to make up on Detroit if they are to make this a series.

Nets were up 55-51 at half in Game 3, then got outscored 27-15 in third quarter, as Pacers shot 52.3% from floor, in addition to a 35-42 showing from charity stripe. Nets shot better from arc last game (7-16) and had just eight turnovers, but when NBA teams shoot 52.3% from floor, they generally win.

Memphis has 0-10 franchise record in playoff games, so this is a huge game for them, even if they don't win series. Dallas took 71 foul shots in first two games, and was +5,+7 in turnovers, so the Grizzlies have lot of ground to make up, after losing by 10,15 pts in first two games at Dallas.

Denver won Game 3 despite going 0-11 beyond arc, as Clippers lost chance to take stranglehold on series; martin is still out for Nuggets (suspended), so Denver shorthanded- they were 32-46 from line in Game 3; they've yet to shoot 39% from floor in any game of this series. Clippers turned ball over 25 times in Game 3, after having total of 26 miscues in first two games.

-- Bad idea to try and outnegotiate Bob McNair; also a bad week to be Reggie Bush, or his agent. Saints can capitalize on this and trade their pick for extra picks, if they'd rather not have young Bush on their squad.
-- Kudos to Texans for having the onions to pull this off; they already have a quality running back, although locals will still be moaning about passing on Vince Young.
-- Actor Beau Bridges was a walk-on hoop player at UCLA in 1960-61 season.
-- Eagles crossed Daunte Culpepper off their draft list when he was a senior because they thought his hands were too small to become a quality QB.
-- In case you were wondering, the price of gas in Houston is only dime a gallon cheaper than here in New York. Good to know the greedy bastards who own the oil companies are ripping everyone off equally.
-- The NBA needs to become more team-oriented. Allowing any type of defense would stifle individual play and force teams to play real basketball, where passing, cutting and team work are what wins games, not individual heroism. It might reduce t-shirt sales, but would create better product.

Saturday's List of 13: Close the windows, there's a draft....
          13) Next fall, when they show the graphics introducing the starters on Monday Night Football, check out where the players come from: not everyone went to USC, Texas or LSU. NFL players come from all over the country, and tomorrow at noon, another draft takes place, as NFL executives put their livelihoods on the line to try and find players who will help their teams win. It is the ultimate form of reality TV, and for us sports fans, it is captivating.

          12) Tennessee Titans apparently committed to taking a QB in first round, but which one? Hometown guy Jay Cutler (11-34 career record at Vanderbilt), USC's Matt Leinart (head coach Fisher, offensive coordinator Chow are USC guys) or Vince Young (Young is from Houston, as is owner Bud Adams-remember, the Titans used to be Houston Oilers). Fascinating decision for franchise that is expected to release its QB, Steve McNair, the QB who brought them to within yard of overtime in SB XXXIV.

          11) New York Giants have a scouting/personnel staff of 17 people. To make seven draft picks, then sign handful of free agents.

          10) Of the last 43 QBs drafted in first round, only two of them won Super Bowl for team that drafted them (Roethlisberger, Aikman).

          9) Kurt Warner wasn't drafted, Joe Montana was third round pick, Tom Brady sixth round pick. Brett Favre got traded after his rookie season. Inexact science is an understatement.

          8) Tim Couch was once the first player taken, Ryan Leaf was once the second, and Akili Smith was once third. Whoops.

          7) Give me players who make plays in games, not players who shine when wearing shorts. Anquan Boldin was slow at his Combine; he's a pretty good pro receiver, isn't he? And he started as a QB at Florida State.

          6) What about the second-level QB prospects? Kellen Clemens (Oregon), Omar Jacobs (Bowling Green), Charlie Whitehurst (Clemson)? Where will they start their pro career? Any QB taken in Round 6 will have Brady as an inspiration.

          5) Apparently, the Texans are going to fire GM Casserly, but my question is this: Why would they wait until after the draft? And while Reggie Bush supporters compare #5 to Gale Sayers, remember that as brilliant as Sayers was, he only played five years in the NFL, due to knee problems, and he never played in a playoff game (Granted, it was much harder to make the playoffs in mid-60's than it is today).

          4) At some point, Draft Day needs to be renamed Mel Kiper Day.

          3) If I run the Texans, and we are committed to David Carr, then we use this draft to commit to building an offensive line. That would make the loudest statement of all concerning their commitment to Carr.

          2) I've said this a lot since last September, and I'm saying it once last time: Do not pass on Vince Young. Big mistake.

          1) The emergence of fantasy sports on sports horizon helps to make the NFL Draft so popular; we've all sat there, maybe on couch or in bar, waiting our turn to pick, and then waiting to see if we were right or wrong with our selection. The whole process is fascinating; the only difference between us and the 32 NFL teams is that there are tens of millions of dollars up for grabs, and livelihoods depend on people being right. Other than that, its all the same.
