Split the games yesterday but lost on a dog so break even. I really thought Detroit could pull out more than the 3 runs they got but shit happens.
Today I am starting with two early dogs and may have another game later...
ATLANTA BRAVES ML +122...Yes Glavine does look sharp in the early part of the season but his career since leaving Atlanta has not been quite as good and his record against his former team is poor at 2-8 with a 6.31 ERA. In his 3 starts this year, he has played against teams that are not that difficult to shut down with the likes of the marlins, brewers and nats. On the other hand, Hudson has been roughed up badly his last 2 starts and we all know this is not Tim Hudson baseball. His career mark of 3-0, 1.93 ERA should show up today as I am suspecting him to give up 1 run in about 6-7 innings. I know I said I wouldn't take the Braves unless it was Smoltz but Hudson is capable of being an ace as well and the dog value is nice.
FLORIDA MARLINS ML +110...Aaron Harang was great in his first start only to get shelled his next two. Although the Fish are struggling early, they do have some bats that can put up some runs here and there especially with Miguel Cabrera in there! Dontrelle is one of the sharpest pitchers around and early in the season, he has been DOMINANT the last few years. His career mark of 4-0 with a 0.97 ERA against Cinci(You read right, 0.97!!!) is outstanding and even though the line seems fishy(no pun intended), I will take Dontrelle with Dog value any day!
