Saturday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but..................
        13) Baseball season is eleven days old, and the Braves still don't have a win from a starting pitcher.

        12) Daniel Cabrera had quite an outing for Orioles in Tampa Wednesday; he allowed only one run in five innings, but of the 26 batters he faced, nine walked, 10 struck out. He was facing a Devil Ray lineup missing Cantu, Huff, Baldelli and Lugo, four of Tampa's best six hitters. Leo Mazzone definitely has his work cut out for him in Baltimore.

        11) Kelvin Sampson's deal at Indiana is worth $10.8M over seven years, but if he leaves IU before June, 2013, he owes the school $500,000.

        10) Contrast that to John Calipari's deal at Memphis, where supposedly he has a $2.5M "loyalty bonus" waiting for him if he stays in Memphis four more years.

        9) Meanwhile, Gene Hackman, Nick Nolte, Gabe Kaplan and Coach Reeves from the White Shadow have all turned down NC State.

        8) Speaking of Kaplan, we're still waiting to see highlights of the tournament he finished second in at last year's World Series of Poker; we're also waiting to see Jennifer Tilly win the ladies' event. Guess is that ESPN is holding that one until we get a little closer to the '06 WSOP, but we hope they show both.

        7) When these big poker tournaments offer $1M for the first prize, who exactly is putting this money up? Are the online poker sites so profitable that they can sponsor tournaments like this, just to keep poker's momentum moving forward?

        6) My hometown of Albany needs three things, only two of which are possible: warmer winters, a Steak and Shake restaurant and a casino downtown by the river.

        5) Steak & Shakes are tremendous; I am appealing to anyone with lot of money who wants to make a great investment. Turn the old Lone Star place on Wolf Road into a Steak and Shake, and you'll have yourself a profitable situation.

        4) How long before the NFL Network commandeers the draft from ESPN?

        3) I was told this week that NBC gave Andrea Kremer $600,000 to be their sideline reporter for NFL games this fall. Exactly how much money do these networks have, that they throw around cash like that?

        2) I've written this five times in this space since January, but I'm writing it again today and then once more right before the draft. Vince Young should be the first QB drafted.

If I worked for a cold-weather team, I'd have serious concerns about Matt Leinart, and to me, Jay Cutler is just overrated. Charlie Whitehurst from Clemson is an interesting sleeper; his dad played for Green Bay in the 70's.

        1) Brett Favre will clue the Packers in on his plans for '06 before the draft, won't he?
