So since I'm terrible at capping baseball during the summer, I figure I need to offer some contribution to the board. My contribution just happens to be in the form of Major League Soccer, a league most people couldn't care less about. Anyhow, I'll be posting what I play in MLS this year, so enjoy. Or just make soccer jokes, that's cool too.
2005 Final Record: 61-58-5 (+30.62*)
2006 Record: 0-0-0
Picks for Saturday:
3* Dallas -1 (-103) over Salt Lake
This Salt Lake team is a joke, no kidding. Their claim to fame last year was being slightly less terrible than Chivas. So naturally they come out and get beat 3-0 in their 2006 opener against Chivas to definitively grab the title of worst team in the league.
2* DC United -155 over Chivas
The big story in this game is the addition of John O'Brien to Chivas' lineup. O'Brien, when healthy, is the best true midfielder that the US has going for us. The problem right now is that he's not in game shape having admitted that he couldn't play 90 minutes right now if he had to. And now he's on a primarily hispanic team with 2 rookies starting on their back line. Chivas is better than last year, but DC is solid at home.
1* Columbus +205 over Colorado
Both of these teams looked terrible last week. The key is that Colorado gave up 5 goals in their last game and now has to play without their best defensive midfielder Pablo Mastroeni thanks to his red card last week.
1* Los Angeles +120 over Chicago
I can't imagine LA will lose 2 in a row at home and Landon Donovan should be rounding into top form heading into this summer's World Cup.
