  • MLB Parlays

While some avoid early season MLB, I have found it often full of favorable lines. I am not a fan of MLB dogs, so I have found that a parlay system can help make certain lopsided plays worthwhile. I like to scout for two games in which I feel the pitching matchup is lopsided and play both games MLs, ML/RL, RL/ML, and RLs. Admittedly, as with any parlay you are playing some risky scenarios, but the payouts mean that you can make some big %s playing favorites.

Today I think Pettitte over Mitre and that depleted Florida lineup is the best pick on the board. Obviously the odds bear that out, so it is a matter of finding the best game to pair this with.

I think Matt Morris is a solid #2 for the Giants, while Sean Estes is a huge reach for San Diego at #2. While Petco would be a great park for pitchers who have been plagued by the long ball, Estes problem is that he gives up too many hits. Petco's cavernous confines will not solve that problem.

Here are some Giants players career avg vs. Estes
    Bonds .375
    Alou .316
    Matheny .438
    Vizcaino .444
    Feliz .308
    Vizquel 2/4
    Niekro 2/2

Estes is a junkballer and this group of veterans shouldn't have any trouble getting on base. This line is Morris -135. I think in 2 months this line will be Morris -235.

    The plays
    1. SF/HOU 2 units
    2. SF/HOU -1.5 1 unit
    3. SF -1.5/HOU 1 unit
    4. SF -1.5/HOU -1.5 1 unit

I'll let you know when I find 2 in a day to play.

    Good luck.
