Had a great day last night going 2-0 winning with the White Soxs and the over. Here are the games I like for today:
Cardinals (-138) POD - Carpenter was awesome this spring going 2-0 with a 1.01 era. Pitched 26.2 innings, gave up 14 hits, 3 earned runs with 7 walks and 23 strikeouts. Lieber was 0-2 with a 7.07 era this spring. Pitched 14 innings have up 24 hits, 12 runs 11 were earned with 2 walks and 13 strikeouts.
Giants (+118) - Schmidt had a good spring going 4-0 with a 1.50 era. Pitched 24 innings, gave up 14 hits, 5 runs 4 earned with 5 walks and 14 strikeouts. Peavy shorten spring due to WBC, 2-0 with a 5.00 era. Pitched 9 innings gave up 9 hits, 7 runs 5 were earned with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Good value getting Schmidt as a dog, could of got +125 if I bet it earlier.
Tigers/Royals over 9.5 - Rogers and Elarton as aces is a joke! Both had bad springs with Rogers was 2-1 with a 7.31 era. Pitched 16 innings, gave up 21 hits, 13 earned runs walked 10 and had 6 strikouts. Elarton was 3-0 but had a 6.55 era. Pitched 22 innings and gave up 39 hits, 16 earned runs with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Tigers in my opinion have a better lineup this year and Royals should get some runs also.
For the 1st couple of weeks, I am going to rely on preseason pitching stats as well as historic data. Don't care about team's spring training record and will keep my bets to teams favored by under -150 and like to take dogs as well. If I see a high moneyline favorite, will take it at the -1 runline.
