The only, and I mean only, drawback here is the Bucks took the Pistons to the wire in a hard fought game in Detroit last night (they were down by only 2 with 1:00 to play). Otherwise, this is a game of two teams fighting for the five seed in the eastern conference with Milwaukee moving up and Indiana tanking. The Pacers have lost three in a row and are banged up with O'Neal and Tinsley both questionable tonight. Milwaukee beat the Suns by 22 Tuesday night before last night's close loss. Bucks much improved since Kukoc and Gadzuric got playing time again. Bucks' deep bench and the fact they had two full days rest before the Pistons game give me confidence they won't be gassed here.
2* Florida -5
(I posted this pick originally on Monday and am using the line I got at the time.) People love the Cinderella story and George Mason has played great but the reality is Florida not only is a better team from a better conference but this is a great matchup for the Gators. George Mason's two big guys kept scoring on those 1970s-style jump hooks against UConn but won't be able to get away with that stuff against Florida's great interior defense. Noah may block five shots. The last few cinderella teams to get to the final four caved in the first game (marquette three years ago upset Kentucky in the regional final only to be smoked by Kansas' uptempo game). I see a repeat here.
