  • Strongest NBA Play So Far This Year

    YTD 47-42 +1.4 units
    2* 5-4 +1.2 units
    1* 42-38 +0.2 units

    NBA 45-39 +2.7 units
    College 2-3 -1.3 units

It's no secret I've had a horrid March and have almost given back an entire season's worth of profits. Nonetheless, there are a lot of games I like tonite including one I love. It will be my first 3* game of the year.

    3* Bulls -6
Despite being only one game out of the playoffs, the Hornets are playing terribly. They've lost nine of their last ten including a very tough one point loss at home last night to the depleted Rockets. They must travel to Chicago with no rest after losing an absolute must game. The Bulls were playing very well before a recent four game losing streak, a streak in which they played very well in several of those losses. They return home tonight after a fourth quarter collapse on the road in Indiana Wednesday nite---a game it looked like they were going to steal on the road. They'll show no let up tonite. I strongly considered this game for my GOY (a 4* play) but I have a little concern about the Bulls losing streak.
Note: this game is still available at -6 at some books; while others have moved it up to -6 1/2. I'd consider buying the hook if you can't get the -6.

    1* Pacers +3
The Pistons finally covered a game Wednesday nite after losing nine out of ten ATS. But that cover barely came in against the Heat and they shouldn't have gotten it (I watched the game and lost on a tough beat). Indiana is coming off a nice come from behind home win Wednesday and now catches points against its arch-rival----a team that is losing ATS almost every game.

    Opinions only:
    Lakers
    Sixers
    Celtics

(all of the above opinions are very good plays but I don't like risking more than four units on any given night)

College opinions (in order of preference):
    Boston College
    Georgetown

When I opened the thread, I figured the big play was the Pacers. Glad to see you have them, even if they aren't the big one. Love the college opinions as well.

    Good luck.

I'm supposed to lay 6 points on a team with a losing record at home in the mist of a 4 game losing streak. On the surface that does sound stupid, but I always like your reasoning and this game is no exception. Go BULLS.

Those are all good reasons and why I chose not to make this my GOY. However, New Orleans is playing terribly and was allout last night in their home loss. I watched three of the Bulls losses in this streak, including a one pointer to the Heat, and they played hard. This is a situational play using a team playing well but losing against a team playing badly but losing.

My biggest disclaimer is that I can't pick my nose right now. i sincerely hope I'm not leading anybody down a bad road here.
