  • Three big matchups; three dogs

    YTD 46-40 +2.6 units
    2* 5-4 +1.2 units
    1* 41-36 +1.4 units

    NBA 44-37 +3.9 units
    College 2-3 -1.3 units

I snapped a six game losing streak Wednesday nite as I went 1-1, unfortunately, the loss was on a 2* play. I did go 3-1 on my opinions, so I'm optimistic the slump is over.

    1* Heat +8
Both teams are in the ATS toilet but going against Detroit this month has been a windfall. The Pistons are 1-9 ATS their last ten. I've been commenting on Saunders' overuse of his players and it's really showing. Miami has lost eight of its last ten ATS but they're not playing badly; it's just that the lines have been way too high. Great value here. The line is assuming Shaq won't play (he didn't last night) but I suspect he'll be in the lineup and even if he isn't I'd like Miami at this number against a team that is losing against the spread every night.

    1* Kings +3
Another road dog in a big game. The Kings and Lakers are in the hunt for the last two west playoff spots and while the Lakers are coming off a nice road trip and the Kings have been awful on the road, Sacramento is really clicking right now. They have more weapons than the Lakers and Artest may slow Kobe down. Take the points.

    1* Nuggets +2 1/2
A statement game for Denver which went 5-2 SU on its recently concluded road trip and has won seven of its last nine. Spurs had to play very hard in last night's win over the Warriors. Even if Denver doesn't pull the upset, there is point spread value.
