  • Do My Eyes Deceive Me?

I see the latest odds at WWTS show the Mets at 5-1 to win the WS, which is right behind the Yankees and White Sox.
Did I miss something? All of a sudden the crappy Mets are 5-1 to win it all, while the Red Sox are 10-1? Give me a break!

Im A True Mets Fan And Im A Betting Man And No Way I'd Take (only)5-1 To Win It All It Should Be More Like 20-1 And I', Well Awhire Of All The Improvements But Geez Give Me A Brake 5-1 Get Bent - I' Take Atlanta Even With All There Personal Losses And I Hate Them

Because the Mets have made some nice offseason moves while your Boston Red Sux have gotten rid of a ton of their offense from last season.. I bet ya Mets make it farther in the playoffs than the Red Sux this season.. That is if Boston even makes it

The mets havent won their division in 12 years, why would anybody think they can win the WS. Braves win the division again and the Muts dont make the playoffs. IMO

A ton of offense??? where?? the only big offensive move was letting Damon go...renteria did jack, mueller was a off-on hitter and lowell is better...Pena was added who has a quick bat...gonzo has a very nice swing and a good OBP..millar (lets just say thank you for letting this one go)..they got crisp who plays similarly to Juan Pierre IMO the offense has only improved
and to say losing damon, renteria, and millar is a huge drop would be crazy...thats my opinion

The Mets make tons of off-season moves every year, but to no avail...why would this year be any different?

                      Me too!

They may not go all the way.... still some holes at 2b and power hitting of... but they have a closer and if pedro and trachsel stay healthy and heilman stays hot they could have a nice staff.... anyway Vegas has its reasons doesn't it???

I am not saying or inferring the Sox will win the WS or even make the playoffs;however if you look at the records of the last few seasons of the two teams, if the Mets are 5-1 to win it all, then the Red Sox should be rated at least the same.
Personally, as someone said I would rate the Mets 15-1 TOPS to win WS and probably closer to 20-1. Just because they added some players proves/means nothing.
There is a big difference in being improved and contending for a WS!
