    Carl,

Thank you I appreciate the insight. Hopefully I can get over this mistake I made and learn. For what it is, I don't gamble nearly as much as the forum probably thinks.

7g is nothing..if hes a real book he'll laugh at the 7k u owe him and let you work payments out..i wouldnt worry about a lousy 7g believe me..dont borrow or take a loan out..when u get money u pay the guy..even 100-200 a week he'll be happy.pay ur bills first and the bookie 2nd..if u make payments to him and than he catches u gambling with another book than he;ll be pissed and smack the shit out of you..Be honest with him and dont be a clown and try and win it with another book..im sure they all know each other in ur area..even in nyc as big as the city is and the books are ..all books talk to each other and trade wagers with each other..

Jokerwild- I meant not to offend- I see a lot of denial in this business. I also agree with Wayne, Carl G and yes Gambling Anonymous with Monte- looky here- G.A. have helped many in the same situation that tried it and got snagged in the nets. Its not the situation but how you handle the it. Being upfront- collateral-bank/credit union/G. A. just to talk with someone. is the answer. Wish you the best.

Guy's, go easy on him. Can't you tell from his posts that he is scared. That's why he was asking if anyone here had been in the same situation. He dosen't know what to expect. Everyone's advice, telling him the reality of his situation is right, although it depends on who he owes this monty to.

Joker, the only advice I can add is if your local is an independent and not part of a synticate he may be willing to forgive part of your debt as long as you are making payments to pay off the rest of your debt. I've had friends that are local books and know from them, getting at least some of your loss back is better than the chance of getting nothing. You are not the first person unable to pay your man. He's probally been stiffed totally before and wants to at least get something back from you. Now if your guy is working for someone else or part of organized crime, everything I said probally won't happen and you have a real problem.

Anyone else worried about getting in over your head should only bet with an offshore book. Because you can only bet with the money in your account, it is impossible to bet with money you don't have.

sandman, I would normally agree until i read post 24 of his. He looked like he was looking for money and it might not be alot to some but 7 grand is seriously not a little either. He also denies any sort of problem with gambling too. If you are willing to keep going until you are 7 grand down before you realize your not gonna win and know you don't have the money. You, have a problem and he should take Monte's advice!

Thank you guys for all your help. I am very nervous. Rumor around here is that he might be involved with organized crime. Im just going to talk to him and most are right: money guaranteed each week is better than nothing. Coming clean and working something out im sure is in the cards.
Wayne: youre sorely mistake about asking for money on here, as that is just ridiculous. Sorry, for the confusion.

                        Wayne,

I was talking about ideas to obtain loans from a bank or now a credit union. (past experiences). I wasn't referring to a Bettor's Chat Loan.

Well, sorry for assuming you knew banks give loans. You didn't say that.

wayne. I can see how you could see it that way. I thought he really had no idea how to get a loan. I could be wrong but he sounds to me like a scared kid in his early 20's or even younger. If he is older and has been gambling for awhile, then he should know better and I'm with your advice 100%.

                              Guys,
That's ridiculous. I know banks give loans and am anyone who asks strangers for money if laughable. I am clearly stating now that I wanted any info on loans you or someone you knew took out, from where, etc.. as I don't have any knowledge of that.

Well buddy I tell you what, you do have some form of problem going 7 dimes in the red. Now, I too have gone 6 in before but that was on a credit card making it no more acceptable but I felt much less pressure than if it was owed to an individual. You've got to get on the grind man and do whatever it is you do to generate that gouda to pay this. I always got out on a poker table, but that's not for most and it isn't my advice. Just talk to this bookie man to man and work something out, if he's a boss you're money won't mean much but you still owe it. Lastly, dont give yourself credit for not looking at a scoreboard, you're broke, you shouldn't be betting but to say you won't again is bs because when you're out you'll feel free but don't bet the capital you don't have in the future. Good luck
