  • Culpepper to Miami!

Daunte Culpepper finally has his wish.

FOXSports.com has learned the Vikings and Dolphins have agreed on a trade, with Miami sending a second-round pick to the Vikings in exchange for the Pro Bowl quarterback.
The trade is contingent upon Culpepper passing a physical, and takes Miami out of the running for free-agent quarterback Drew Brees who now could be headed to the Saints.

Culpepper was a three-time Pro Bowl selection for Minnesota but played poorly last season before tearing three ligaments in his right knee in a game Oct. 30. He has been at odds with the Vikings over his 10-year, $102 million contract and wants to be traded.

"If a trade does not happen then I am asking the Vikings to terminate my contract as soon as possible," he said in a recent e-mail to media outlets
    It's always noon somewhere!

To appease the masses of fans here, we are still awaiting the news that the Saints have locked up Drew Brees.

Very surprised and disappointed in the move that Miami has made.

I thought Nick Saban was building a winning team ... a real contender in the next year or two.

          This is a setback.

What the hell are they thinking ?

                    as a Dolphins fan....

I love the trade. Culpepper for a 2nd round pick is a very good gamble. And much better than the last QB we traded a 2nd round pick for (AJ Feely). The Dolphin's needed to get a QB that can throw the ball deep and has mobility. The offensive line sucked again last year (they did upgrade with LJ Shelton and should be able to get Winston Justice from USC at the 16th pick). If Culpepper returns with only having lost a step, he can succeed in Miami. Ferrotte stinks and Brees wanted too much money. I like Brees a lot but I think Culpepper can be real good and has a bigger upside. Culpepper is a high risk/high reward QB. He will throw some painful INTs but he also throw a lot of TDs. The guy is coming off one bad year and everyone seems ready to bury him. I don't think the last few games he played are really the QB he is. Brees played in a conservative offense under Marty. They wanted to pound the ball then throw it. The Dolphins have good coaches, good WR, a good TE and a good RB. As long as the D can have another good year, they should contend.

BAD move by Miami. I don't see Culpepper as a good fit AT ALL for this team. Is he better than what they had? Maybe, but i think Brees was a much better system QB for Saban. I also think Brees will turn out healthier and he is younger. I don't get it. Culpepper is simply not a guy that ever brought Minn. anywhere but backwards as his career went on and Brees i think is getting better. A shoulder can be fixed and i think his future is bright. The knee holds the body weight and gets attacked at the QB position. As a Patriots fan i was much more worried about them getting Brees than Culpepper. Brees would have been a perfect fit with a very similiar offense. He likes the TE and they have a young RB who can run and catch the ball out of the backfield just like S.D.

                      I don't get it, i just don't!

Glad the Vikes got rid of Culpepper, he will never be the same qb after the injury. Well, I guess he sucked last year before he got hurt anyways. I would of been glad to get any draft pick for Culpepper since we probably would of cut him before he was to receive a $6 million bonus. He is such a dipshit asking for a raise and contract restructured after that horseshit season and getting a serious injury, nice bargining chip! Once Moss was gone, Culpepper couldn't read a defense to save his life after Vikes had no go to guy! Don't let the door hit you in the ass!

I think the trade was well worth it. 2nd Round Picks in the league aren't guranteed to be anything special. Culpepper has a lot of talent and I think can make this team competitive for a SB again. Well worth the risk.
